I think $35-40M per (25% of the cap) is fair. As far as the Cavs, the only thing that has been made publicly clear is they're not interested in paying him the max.

You(and any team)'ll have a hard time convincing Ingram that he deserves less money than OG Anunoby. He will probabky preffer to play the season and increase his value(beting on himself) and wait for the next FA where more teams will have more space.

And to that i would say to Ingram: "Best of luck with your attempts to get a max, it just won't (I HOPE!!!) be from the Cavs..."

From the way I see, Cavs already see themselves with 2 max guys on the roster, potentially 3, it doesnt make a lot of sense add Ingram who wants a max but isnt a top30 guy.
You guys should look to add a 3-D guy using Allen(maybe even Herb).

Ingram will bet on a bad team that wants to compete after 2025 draft (Detroit, Spurs, Utah) to max him or NOP decides to keep him(paying the max) if the option is lose him for nothing.

I’d send Lavert over Struss which I think may be preferred for Pelicans.

It's not really about convincing him. He gets to do what he wants. It's about making smart choices under the new CBA.

Jarret Allen isn’t winning you anything. Garland won’t show up in the playoffs. Mobley is a glorified dunk man. Mitchell has some experience but is a liability on defense. To me, the Cavs are a treadmill team.

No smart team is going to give up valuable assets for the privilege of paying Brandon Ingram the max or something close to the max.
