For unprotected picks they should do it. Memphis got no luck and 1 injury can take any team from a top 4 to the lotto, and once there...feels like a team jumps every year now

Yeah, Lauri will cost more than that I'd say, adding protection on the picks is a bit weird considering there is no player with value being sent to Jazz in the OP.

Aldama
GG Jacskon
Edey
3 unprotected 1sts

?

We not doing that lol.

Edey is the big swing piece here imo but I love the overall structure here for Memphis swinging for the fences. Not sure they can get over the hump on the other offers but intriguing idea for me.

Aldama + GG + Vince + 3 FRP [Unsure on protections - likely 2 UNP + 1 LP IMO] (W/ Konchar or Zhaire as filler)

MEM gets to keep Edey but pays a pretty high cost. That being said, this roster is Top-3 in the West. Maybe even 2nd best after OKC IMO.

G - Ja Morant / Marcus Smart / Derrick Rose / Scottie Pippen JR
G - Desmond Bane / Marcus Smart / Cam Spencer
F - Lauri Markkanen / Zhaire Williams or Jon Konchar / Jaylen Wells
F - Jaren Jackson JR / Brandon Clarke / Gordon Hayward (Vet Min)
C - Zach Edey / Bismack Biyombo (Vet Min) / Jaren Jackson JR

The bench is shakey but that starting lineup is wild. I do think Cam and SPJ are playable rotation guys, at least in the regular season, so in my biased opinion the bench is deeper than it seems.

UTA gets to take 3 swings on young guys with talent and gets 3 picks. Dont think there is a better deal out there that mixes picks and young guys with promise.

It doesn't go really deep but rolling out Marcus Smart and Brandon Clarke first two guys off the bench is pretty darn solid imo.

Overall agree though there is a big upside for Memphis here.

I think UTA would probably shop pretty hard to find additional picks for someone taking Aldama and Vince. If you could get another pick or two and walk away with a headliner in GG and 4-5 picks that they seem to want, it would feel like a solid solution for both teams. Or is there a team that would be incentivized to take Collins/Clarkson if Aldama or Vince was thrown in?

I think Aldama could pull a protected FRP from a contender - personally I think Vince should be seen as a potential core guy in UTA.

If they want to move both though I think BOS should be in the mix. Something like UNP 26 FRP + swap option for Aldama and Vince. Think both guys are awesome fits in BOS. Aldama as the heir to Al and Vince as a sort of poor mans Smart.

G - Jrue Holiday / Payton Pritchard / Jaden Springer
G - Derrick White / Vince Williams JR / Jordan Walsh
F - Jaylin Brown / Sam Hauser / Baylor Scheierman
F - Jayson Tatum / Santi Aldama / Baylor Scheierman
C - Kristaps Porzingis / Al Horford / Luke Kornet

I sorta really love the way those 2 guys round out that roster.

Vince is not on the table he fits our core now and is to inexpensive to be in a trade. Santi is a poor man’s Lauri so Jazz should extend on a Deni type of contract. Konchar and Ziaire will have to be added for money and to get Memphis off those contracts.

Probably fair but no other team is offering 3 potential starters (possible core pieces) to Utah. Also Konchar and Ziaire would definitely have to go to Utah to clean up the money.

Yeah but the Memphis picks aren't that exciting given how young and incredible their core is, especial because of this trade.

Fair point depending on how we feel about Edey in comparison to Kessler would be the true deal breaker.

Would be smarter to take the player you know is NBA ready (Kessler). But I understand from a contract point of view it would be nice to keep Edey at his price

I think it’s crazy to let a guy like Vince be the holdup in a Lauri trade.

Like, adding Lauri to MEM makes them a legit title contender. Assuming Ja is healthy and Edey is legit, the SL of Ja / Bane / Lauri / JJJ / Edey w/ Smart 6 man is IMO comparable to BOS and better than OKC - and those 2 right now are the most talented teams in the league.

It takes MEM to another level.

I feel that but we could start Vince tomorrow and I am comfortable with us winning 50+ games. Vince is probably our best perimeter defender and has shown to be a playmaker and 3&D guy. Just not comfortable trading him front office may side different but I doubt that given we shut him down just like we did Bane, Smart and Jaren.

After watching the head to head matchup. I think Edey is better and will be top 3 for ROTY.
