How many owners were ever willing to spend 11% over the tax? 30+ percent over the cap. This isn’t a league wide problem, this is a 6-8 team problem.
Your team’s ownership can now use this as a boogeyman, but most like they were never doing it anyways. Gilbert is one of those 6-8 owners though..
And for Cleveland, that problem doesn’t come up until 2026-2027 until they add another big salary.. And going over one year does nothing really, so call it 2027-2028..

He can put on some muscle and weight if he knows he isn’t going to have to switch on perimeter as much. He’s a truly awesome defensive player with some developing range. Yeah, not a ball-handler, but he does see the floor.
Trade Allen already. Trade Garland. I know, you have to find the right deal. But Mitchell and Mobley with actual wing talent is a better team than this current incarnation.
Mobley has narrow shoulders, he's not going to bulk up much more than he has already. he's not a 5 he's a classic 4. I get that classic 4's are out of fashion, but that's what he is. For those confused by the retention of Allen, an actual 5, Mobley is at his best when he's allowed to roam defensively. When CLE had Okoro and Wade switching up top with Mobley and Allen behind them they were nearly impregnable.
Ultimately he hasn't earned a max deal though due to offensive limitations, and because they haven't corrected the Garland/Mitchell issue, it's unlikely he's going to get all that much opportunity to improve. The three point should continue to get more consistent though.

"Classic 4s" are just called bad players.
If you're a pure PF who can't shoot and isn't a good shot creator, you're just not valuable.

It's a league where 10 teams at any given time are trying to lose, the other 10 teams full of young players they got when they were trying to lose, and 10 teams with vets who are trying to win.
