And LeBron was reportedly willing to take a paycut to sign Jonas V in FA, and that didn't happen so I'd venture a guess the Lakers aren't very interested in Jonas V.

There wasn't an avenue even with a LeBron paycut to actually sign Jonas once DLo opted in.

Given the Wizards and Lakers have completed a few trades together I'm thinking they may have arranged top pick Jonas up for trade to Lakers. Just a hunch.

There was ASSUMING LBJ was willing to take a big enough paycut. The Lakers are currently 45k below the 2nd apron, so they'd need to clear out ~$10M. LBJ would have needed to sign for $38M, so if LBJ was genuine then they could have signed him.

More than $10m, more like $20m needed to be dropped. Val needed a non tax MLE. If DLo didn't opt in then they could have got Val on the NT MLE.

With Wiz signing him they can now trade him to Lakers in December.
