3 for 1, where one of the players you're flipping isn't very good and another is young but hasn't shown anything, is not a very good barometer.

Even if Podziemski was in the deal, you would owe at least a pick. But here he's not.

If the idea here is "we'll take Lauri if he's cheap, otherwise forget it"... just forget it.

I’m not stating the offer I make is getting Lauri cheap at all, that’s what I think he is worth. Lauri is a nice player, a tall one dimensional shooter, that has 1-year left on his contract where he is then UFA. All of the teams he’s been on, end up lotto bound, or tanking, or are just plain awful. He’s a complimentary player, not a star.

The Warriors might end up regretting trading for him if they are using either Podz or Kuminga in the deal, as they may end up better than Lauri anyway.

I think he can help the Warriors, but MDJ and Joe are playing this right and not overpaying because he won’t be some star player that everyone thinks the haul for him should be. He’s just not that good.

One dimensional? I just don't think you know anything about him if you think all he is, is a tall shooter.

Huge overvalue if the argument is true. Based on the Jazz argument in this thread, of wanting to tank in Utah, Coxy's 3 for 1 is the valuation I came up with too.

I disagree, unless he stops playing at the level he is then there is a discussion there which I don’t think is going to happen.

While simultaneously undermining the value saying he wants to tank it on the bench in Utah. Can you reconcile this difference? I am not seeing it.

Can I ask where you are getting that from?

First off, I wish Jazz fans all the best. Whatever direction you want it to go. I am just pointing out that this argument does not add value in a negotiation. It lowers it. It creates a distressed asset a la Wiggins.

Sending out the message that a player doesn't want to move, and would be willing to tank their own stats, by sitting collecting a check, due to "injury" or whatever, is not a value-added proposition for this guy's long-term career. Guys like that , not wanting to go "all in" with heart, while taking up the number 1 salary slot, get moved with a pick a la wiggins.

If trades are discussed, needs to be a bit more realistic in what the parameters are. So this argument, trying to create scarcity is not doing that. Its bringing up character and heart questions.

My opinion, that doesnt matter is, I can't reconcile what this argument is for asking so much in this trade, or what ainge thinks he is doing with your roster in general. WIsh you all the best with that, for whatever ends up transpiring with the options remaining after the 7th.

" Lauri doesn't want to be traded." Is in this thread. I have also read in others, "Utah tanked and sat Lauri". That is bad negotiating and marketing all in one big logical mess. Not how you get max value out of an asset. It just isnt. But its the message I am getting as a potential trade partner.
