Cle / Atl

Cleveland receives: De'Andre Hunter
Atlanta receives: Jaylon Tyson, Georges Niang, Ty Jerome and 2 2nds

Why?
Cleveland adds a much-needed wing who could start.
Atlanta gets a good prospect, unload Hunter's contract and save a lot of money.

PG: Darius Garland / Craig Porter Jr.
SG: Donovan Mitchell / Max Strus / Sam Merrill
SF: De'Andre Hunter / Caris Levert
PF: Evan Mobley / Dean Wade / Luke Travers
C: Jarrett Allen / Khalifa Diop
Coach: Kenny Atkinson

This is a fun thought exercise for both teams.

I don't see Cleveland having any interest in this deal. If Hunter was a valuable wing, Atlanta would not be trading him?
Well at least we're not Detroit!

They just drafted a SF with the first overall pick. I think Atlanta will consider trading Hunter because of that.

The Cavs biggest issue is staying healthy which makes trading for Hunter a really dubious choice. If the Hawks want to get off his contract, I'd consider something around Niang and LeVert for Zeller and Hunter, but I wouldn't add value beyond the future cap savings for someone who hasn't even averaged 50 games/season over the course of his career. I'm pretty bullish on Tyson. He might be the better option by the end of the season.

Jarret Allen isn’t winning you anything. Garland won’t show up in the playoffs. Mobley is a glorified dunk man. Mitchell has some experience but is a liability on defense. To me, the Cavs are a treadmill team.

Yeah, I'm not quite as in on Tyson as you are. But agree the health concerns are real and find it hard to get excited about giving up young value, and those future cap savings couldn't hurt ATL's cause...

He's 19 and not ready to play big minutes.

Cleveland sign and trade Okoro
Jazz trade Kessler.

Jazz get a young and improving G/SF.
Cavs get a back up defensive center.

Hunter's complete lack of progress as a player makes me believe Tyson is likely to be the better player on a better contract in three years.

If the Jazz want Okoro they just sign him. No need to give up an asset.
