Cavs get: Julian Strawther and Zeke Nnaji
Nuggets get: Jaylon Tyson, Ty Jerome and 2 2nds (2025 Cavs and 2027 Nuggets)
Cavs add size on the wing and a back-up big.
Nuggets get a prospect ready to contribute, unload Nnaji and get some seconds.
Jerome is added for salary matching purposes.
I think the Cavs should consider this. Tyson is interesting, but we already have a logjam at guard.
PG: Darius Garland / Craig Porter Jr.
SG: Donovan Mitchell / Caris LeVert / Sam Merrill
SF: Max Strus / Julian Strawther
PF: Evan Mobley / Dean Wade / Luke Travers
C: Jarrett Allen / Zeke Nnaji / Khalifa Diop
Coach: Kenny Atkinson

Re: Cavs and Nuggets
Nnaji has strong negative value and puts the Cavs into an untenable tax situation. There is no way the Cavs take him back, even in a swap for Niang.
Tyson > Strawther in terms of value. And they don't play different positions, Tyson is only a half inch shorter.
Not a reasonable trade as-is. I could see Strawther for Jerome + one 2nd, though, from the Cleveland side?

Re: Cavs and Nuggets
The Nuggets are not likely trading Strawther. Here is an article that explains:
https://milehighsports.com/three-reasons-julian-strawther-is-denver-nuggets-most-important-bench-player/
Unless a trade would be too good to pass up, the Nuggets will sit tight with him. This proposed trade does not move the needle for Denver.

Canned in Denver.

Re: Cavs and Nuggets
I usually try to be constructive, but this is just a big miss. It's awful for the Cavs. Thr Cavs don't need a boom or bust, developmental prospect at SF. They need a solid, two-way prospect who can do the things that Tyson was able to do in SL.
Even if you, personally, like Strawther better, Nnaji is straight negative value and the Cavs are adding the last bit of draft capital they have available to trade.

Jarret Allen isn’t winning you anything. Garland won’t show up in the playoffs. Mobley is a glorified dunk man. Mitchell has some experience but is a liability on defense. To me, the Cavs are a treadmill team.

Re: Cavs and Nuggets
I don’t really get this for Cleveland. They just drafted a really solid prospect with upside as a two way player…and then you trade him for guys you can’t really play in your playoff rotation.
