in the other thread did you not suggest he is not worth max? 175 would start at max decline 1 mill a yr over 5 yr deal

But if Wagner makes All-NBA 3rd team [which is easier now with the 65 game cut off] he is sacrificing like $100 Million.

then would be better for both to wait till next summer...franz bets on him getting alot better to get top 15 in nba? ...magic have more cap space next summer his hold would be like 20 mill ..so magic can sign player next summer for 20 mill and still then give him max...franz takes chance on improved numbers by a lot and no injurys and 175 mill is a lot to chance ..magic have a yr to see if worth full max...kinda like maxey did

Told ya. Franz on a max before the season starts.

i did say expect...magic spent next summers cap..thought they would do more 1/+1 contracts they did not...no reason to wait

I was also thinking more 1 + 1 deals.

The extension if a max will bump up the 30% if he qualifies before the extension starts.

Yes that is how the rule works.

Right so he wouldn’t gain anything by waiting to see if he makes an all nba team

Right. I never said he should wait. I said both parties should do the Max and Wagner should sign it ASAP because he can still get the 30% with an All-NBA selection.

I think it is unlikely he is extended.

Could try to offload Fred, Brooks, or both when they're not even a play-in team again.

Oh ok. I misunderstood stood because you were talking about him sacrificing 100 million.
I read the history and see you were comparing to him taking a discount rather than early extension vs waiting. Carry on.

Yeah that's the other guy who said Franz should sign a less-than-max deal.

I read the history and see you were comparing to him taking a discount rather than early extension vs waiting. Carry on.

Yeah I thought there was no way he would take a discount. We are talking about 100s of Millions of Dollars here and Franz is far too good of a player and prospect to take less than the Max.

Charlotte are going to regret not extending Tre Mann.

He’s going to break out this season

Grading myself:

gswhoops wrote:Just the lottery for now, might add the rest later.

1. Detroit - Cade Cunningham - max, TO on 5th year
2. Houston - Jalen Green - no extension
3. Cleveland - Evan Mobley - max
4. Toronto - Scottie Barnes - max (already signed)
5. Orlando - Jalen Suggs - 4 years $130M
6. Oklahoma City (traded to Chicago) - Josh Giddey - no extension
7. Golden State - Jonathan Kuminga - 5 years $150M, TO on 5th year
8. Orlando - Franz Wagner - max
9. Sacramento - Davion Mitchell - no extension
10. Memphis - Ziaire Williams - no extension
11. Charlotte - James Bouknight - no extension (waived)
12. San Antonio - Joshua Primo - no extension (waived)
13. Indiana (traded to Sacramento) - Chris Duarte - no extension
14. Golden State - Moses Moody - no extension

Right: Cade, Mobley, Suggs (close enough), Giddey, Franz
Wrong: Green, Kuminga, Moody

Too obvious to take credit for: Barnes, Mitchell, Ziaire, Bouknight, Primo, Duarte

i would've been pretty happy with anything up to what Moses Moody signed for, but i think Mann realizes he's got some upside and has a pretty major opportunity to prove it.
