Huerter + 2 2nds for DFS

Sacramento clearly needs some forward depth. Brooklyn gets younger, adds a few 2nds, and picks up a shooter. Balances both teams better.

DFS is not the answer. I’m also unclear on how many movable seconds Monte has left. Vlade gifted him a massive pile of them and he has been burning through them.

Certainly a no from Brooklyn considering Huerter is owed $18 million next season.

DFS is owed $15.3M, yes?

Jarret Allen isn’t winning you anything. Garland won’t show up in the playoffs. Mobley is a glorified dunk man. Mitchell has some experience but is a liability on defense. To me, the Cavs are a treadmill team.

Yes. And if DFS is almost cooked now, he won't be better next year.

In a stacked offensive team, Kevin has shown he can still get buckets and despite his rep, he isn't as bad as people make him out to be on the defensive end.
I think the Kings will look to trade him, but DFS at this point is not something the Kings should look for, and definitely not putting picks in. IMO they need to be looking at a 4/5 that can stretch the floor. Portis/Rui/Naz/Stewart type of player.

Meh, I get the sentiment. I just tend to think that guys like DFS are more team based players. On a team like Brooklyn he's being completely wasted (no offense). The second he steps foot on a good team that has play makers and allows him to play his role he will provide solid minutes.

Hes about to be 32 years old. We basically need him to come play 15mpg off the bench, giving solid defense and shooting 35+% from 3. Something he did pretty easily in Dallas.

Huerter can get buckets, but we will soon have a glut at the 2. And even currently we can get by with Fox, Monk, Ellis hogging the majority of the guard minutes. Our lack of forward depth is showing through 6 games into the season. DFS might not be the perfect solution, but let's not act like Huerter is either. These are two flawed players who fit better on the opposite team.

DFS isn’t a good enough shooter to trade Huerter for when Keegan’s shooting like this. I’ll take Grant Williams easily over him we wouldn’t even have to give up Huerter for Grant.

I'm not sure where this chatter of DFS being "almost cooked" or washed is coming from. He's still the same player. An awesome versatile defender who can make corner 3s well, hustles hard, and a really good vet presence to have. I believe this proposed deal would be an easy no for Nets, I don't see the Nets wanting to take on Huerter.
