I don’t see the connection.

Don't be surprised to see them keep Wiseman over Jackson. They signed Wiseman to a two year deal and Wiseman was clearly more impressive during the pre-season

They only gave Wiseman $500k for this year (except he got injured and is essentially now guaranteed for this year). That wasn’t a “we believe in this guy” as much of a “well, if he does put anything together, we want a return on our investment”.

And Jackson’s regular season production was clearly more impressive than anything Wiseman did at any point.

Wiseman was the first center off the bench when he got hurt and during the pre-season they weren't close to the same level

Probably not? At that point, would just play Obi at the 5. Plus, salary matching is difficult and would require sending a valued player, and Detroit sending value back, and then a bad cycle of each team negotiating for more.

Maybe. Would require Obi or Nesmith as salary matching, and I think Indy would want additional value back? Plus, he’s just a tough stylistic match for a team that wants to run constantly and play in space.

Wiseman was the first center off the bench in the preseason when Jackson was injured. When Jackson returned, he played much better than Wiseman had at any point. And Wiseman got hurt in game 1, 4 and a half minutes in. Can’t really take any long term valuations off that one small stint. Especially when Jackson wasn’t cleared to play yet in that game.
