Yeah. This was the only Wiggins/Olynyk deal I could come up with that made sense:
Sacramento - Aaron Wiggins, swap of Heat or Clippers 2025 first from OKC
Toronto - Trey Lyles, Sacramento 2nd rounder far in the future
OKC - Olynyk, swap with Sacramento 1st (top 10 protected)
The Thunder likely move up a few picks in the draft (unless the Kings beat out both the Heat and Clippers) and get Olynyk. Wiggins spot might be taken by one of their young players or a rookie, and maybe they can move up in the draft with their bevy of picks.
Kings move down a few picks but get a solid 25 year old 5th starter or 6th man on a nice deal who might even close games in a Fox-Wiggins-Demar-Murray-Sabonis starting 5 that has more size than if Monk or Ellis are at the 2 guard spot, and Ellis-Monk-Huerter is a solid perimeter group. They're in real trouble at the backup 5 (Demar is fine as the backup 4 with their perimeter depth) spot, but that's sort of the case already. This summer, they can draft a new backup 5, get one with the non-tax MLE and just sneak under the luxury tax (if my math is right), and if they want one now, they can probably burn a 2nd rounder on getting one from some team, and it's probably worth it, they're never gonna win a title and Alex Len is killing them. They could also move one of Huerter, Ellis or Monk for one since Devin Carter should be healthy again.
Raptors get a 2nd rounder and an expiring Lyles. That would give Toronto enough space next year to move Bruce Brown for bad money next year if some team will make us a good offer (say Gabe Vincent, Max Christie, Hood-Schiffino and a lottery protected first for Bruce Brown and a couple of 2nds), or maybe a big trade opens up over the summer.
Not sure I would do it if I was OKC, but if they figure 1 of Chet or Hartenstein will be healthy that's Wiggins' 20 minutes covered right there (the 2 bigs are at a combined 19 minutes a game and even if only one is healthy, that's presumably going up to say 25 for Hartenstein or 30 for Chet or say 20 for Hartenstein and 30 for Chet if both are healthy) even if Olynyk is just shooting big insurance for Chet and doesn't play most nights, and he'd be by far the most playoff experienced Thunder, which might be a nice bonus. And the real prize is maybe going from like #20 to #13 or so with their first, and if they're at #13 and say #17, maybe they can package them and get up to #7 or #8 and get a prospect they love.
