Houston/PHX/BKN If PHX gives up (Booker/Durant).

Post#1 » by Xman » Wed Dec 11, 2024 9:02 pm

What if PHX could get picks back and cap clear? They are collapsing so this could be time.
BKN would love to get that 2027 swap back from Houston so it can collapse the roster.
Houston is good - how much would they give to be really good right now?

To make money work, need to break down into separate deals (each works on espn tradechecker):

Durant for Vleet
Booker for Jabari, Whitmore, JeffGreen, Tate, Landale and Holiday (could be Adams instead of Landale and Holiday)
Beal to BKN for Simmons and JWilson
Nurkic to BKN for BojanB.

BKN - in aggregate - sends Simmons, JWilson, BojanB, 2025/28 PHX swap for Beal, Nurkic, 2027 swap returned.
BKN takes on Nurkic and Beal contracts (two years of Beal hurts but is not too long). Sinks for two years to really rebuild.

PHX - in aggregate - sends Beal, Nurkic, Durant for picks back from Houston and swap from BKN, two top prospects (Jabari, Whitmore) and team options (Vleet, JeffGreen, Tate). Would have over $100 million in cap space next year. Still has swap issues in 2026/28/30.
edit- add Houston firsts in 2028&2030. Swaps in 2027&29.

Houston:
Pg - Amen Thompson, Reed Sheppard
Sg - Booker, JalenGreen
Sf - Brooks
Pf - Durant, Eason
C - Sengun, Adams
- That would be a sweet nine deep rotation.

Could add future Houston picks if that evens it up.
Jalen G is poison pill so not dealable.
Only other thing that could be added without hamstringing the team would be reed Sheppard.

Keep in mind phx also unloads murkier and Beal.

So this is essentially

Suns send Booker, Durant, Beal, Nurkic for

3 firsts, Jabari Smith, Van Vleet and Cam Whitmore

Feels like maybe the worst trade ever?

Brooklyn is currently a playoff team with a bunch of draft capital and cap space heading into next year.

There is no way they want any part of Beal and you have them doing this for one lousy pick swap?

KD and the Rockets are a good match but the 2nd apron kills any deal unless Van Vleet is involved and that would leave Houston w/o a PG.

Im not sure how you get both of the Suns best players while holding onto all 3 of your best prospects. That's crazy

Yeah, this is all kinds of Brutal for the Nets. They'd want no part of it.

If the Suns decide to blow it up, they should offer zero incentive to move Nurkic and Beal. Those costs are truly sunk.

This is crazy lol

Houston needs to give up a lot more. Should try to keep Fred and Dillon if going all in, needs to be done in the off-season.
