In light of reports that the Kings are shopping Huerter and Lyles, ill offer this idea
To Toronto
-Kevin Huerter (2 years, $34.8 million)
-Trey Lyles (1 year, $8 million)
-2026 2nd round pick
-2027 2nd round pick
To Sacramento
-Bruce Brown (1 year, $23 million)
-Bruno Fernando (1 year, $2.1 million)
Why?
-The Raptors add another shooter who can play behind Dick and infront of Walter. Lyles, another Canadian, gives them frontcourt depth. They could flip Lyles again at TD and move Huerter in off-season.
Quickly/Mitchell/Shead
Dick/Huerter/Walter
Barrett/Agbaji/Temple
Barnes/Lyles/Mogbo
Poeltl/Olynyk/Boucher
-The Kings pick up Brown who I think is exactly who they need off bench as a defender/swiss army knife to help them get back into contention. Fernando gives them an expiring frontcourt piece to replace Lyles
Fox/Carter/McLaughlin
Monk/Brown/Jones
DeRozan/Ellis/McDermott
Murray/Crowder
Sabonis/Len/Robinson/Fernando
Huerter/Lyles/2nds for Brown/Fernando

Leaves Sacramento too thin at power forward, but I think it would be good for them to salary dump Huerter for some seconds.

Re: Huerter/Lyles/2nds for Brown/Fernando
Huerter would see very limited minutes this year, although he should be movable in the offseason. Regardless, Sacramento can't trade their '26 or '27 2nd rounders, as they are committed to Atlanta if Sacramento's '25 1st rounder doesn't convey by 2026. The only other 2nd they have is their own in 2029.

That's alot of salary to take on next year for some measly 2nds.
Rather just let Brown expire and ride out our young guards

TOR could probably avoid the tax next year if they don't sign any FAs and let Davion walk, but yeah, that's quite a bit of salary to take on for 2 SRPs, and I don't want to be depending on Shead as the only legit backup PG
I'd probably flip my opinion from weakly negative to weakly positive if Olynyk was off the books in another move, so IMO it's close value wise
In a no-win argument, the first poster to Let It Go will at least retain some peace of mind

Add a 2nd and send Huerter to Clips for PJT/Hyland, clips add a depth shooter, salary balast next year and adds a 2nd.
Defense wins draft lotteries!

Huerter has to be traded for someone above 6’6 anything else and monte should be fired on the spot enough is enough

Yeah, Lyles is the dealbreaker here. Can't afford to lose him without another real frontcourt piece returning. Think both teams pass.
