Not sure the team feels the same though.

Dallas sends Dwight Powell and Olivier Maxcene-Prosper to Detroit with a second or something for the Pistons taking extra money onto their salary. Kieff gets sent to Minnesota. Wolves send Ingles to Dallas. Pistons send Wendell Moore Jr to Dallas.

Mavs save money and get Ingles. Take a look at Moore.

Wolves switch from Ingles to Kieff

Pistons get a veteran big to help Duren, replace the project of Reed with the project of Prosper. Get small compensation for taking on extra money.

I’d need to know a lot more about Moore. But considering Detroit didn’t pick up his option, it feels like this is a bad idea for Dallas.

To use Prosper to turn our loyal cheerleader into a different cheerleader feels unwise.

None of these players are anything special. Powell maybe helps Detroit with Duren because he’s been in the league for a long time. But it also feels like Detroit getting Nerlens Noel.

Prosper seems like he’s going to be a “two years away” for his career type player. Moore tries hard

I was just trying to come up with a trade. I feel like the main benefit for Dallas is getting below the tax line.

He needs to come back home to Utah, where he belongs.

And after he's done playing, he can stay with the Jazz in their broadcasting crew until he retires.
New York said Mitchell wasn't the guy you trade the sink for, then they traded it for Mikal, lol.

I'd also like him to end his career in Utah and don't care about our end of bench guys. Cut Svi.

He’s untouchable. I’ve loved having Jingles on the Wolves.
Rest in peace Mamba. There'll never be another Kobe.

I think the only place they'd trade him is either to Utah (bookending his career) or to Orlando (back home to his family). He is a minimum contract, so trading him really accomplishes very little, except maybe appeasing OP's grudge against basically the entire Minnesota roster as a Timberwolves fan.

LOL. Or, it accomplishes opening a roster spot, saving ownership 11 million, and at the time allowing us to sign Paul Reed while cutting PJ Dozier. It also helps us take back another body in a Randle trade (2 for 1 without needing a dead money cut.) But sure, it is all a grudge ;)

When you've begged the team to trade everyone from literally Player 1 to Player 15, it starts to become a bit more....

I think Joe's impact for Minnesota goes beyond just what you see on the court. First of all, he's one of the few "Rudy whisperers" in the league, arguably even more than Mike Conley. That is huge for a team that is continuing to find itself on the offensive end. It needs to maximize the offense in any way it can, and that includes continuing to learn how to play with someone like Gobert.

I think he's also great for player morale. It's easy to think of players as robots, especially in today's NBA2K culture. If you don't perform on the court, it's better to cut bait and find someone else... But sometimes, having those guys in the locker room who can get teammates in the proper head space is crucial to a team's success. Someone could argue "well, hire him as an an assistant coach"....perhaps. But then again, those guys aren't in the locker room at all times with the players. Sometimes, a player will respond better when it comes from a teammate rather than a coach, even if the job title is the only difference.

Being willing to trade anyone is par for the course on trade boards and trade threads. I am a huge KAT fan but was willing to trade him for a good return. That said I was angry he was traded for a bad one. Anyone can misrepresent someone else’s positions, you just happen to be doing so with mine.

Jingles does have a role in the locker room. At the same time the Wolves have 15 roster spots. Miller, TSJ, Garza, and Dozier are currently occupying 4. That leaves 11 spots for the actual basketball. If Jingles has one of those 11 that means we have to do everything with 10. Given that Minott and Dilly cannot get consistent rotation minutes because Finch likes short benches, now you have to do more with less. A C2 who is actually rotation worthy would be a nice addition to this roster, (I mean have you seen Rudy’s on/off stats,) and the best way to accomplish this is by moving Jingles or cutting Dozier, or both.

I love seeing iconic vets bookend their careers with the teams they spent their lives with! I can see three possibilities where this happens with Joe, none of them are particularly likely.

1. MIN has an injury, and needs to sign a different free agent who actually plays. That said, Finch likes Ingles, and he was played early in the season because he knows how to play with Gobert, is a good three point shooter, and he is a smart passer - all things the Wolves can use in a pinch.

2. Ingles prefers UTA. Like winforlose says, filling that 15th spot with Ingles will cost MIN $11 mil if they have to pay $8.5 mil in lux taxes on him at the end of the season. $11 mil isn’t insignificant, but Joe also helps team chemistry, something MIN is trying to develop on the fly after the late KAT trade. Depending on how much better that chemistry looks by February, I could see Tim Connelly approaching the veteran and giving him the choice. “We know you’re near the end of your career. Would you like to finish the season with the contending Wolves, Rudy and Mike, or return to Utah for sentimental reasons?”

3. Ingles plays one more year, and this time, UTA signs him in 2025 free agency.

Still, I’d like to see it. To me, Joe has been a central part of the Jazz, and it’d be nice to see him end his career in Utah.

I want to be clear, I am not advocating forcing Jingles somewhere he doesn’t want to be. I expect any trade that moved Jingles to another team would have his blessing.

If he can walk...I'd plug him in as ORL's starting PG until the Big 2 get back. I wish I was joking...he just makes good decisions and hits 3's...plus, the best s**t-talker in the league.

I'm not sure he'd feel this way. Who are the holdovers in Utah from when he was there?

Jordan Clarkson. That's it. And he's very likely on his way out as well. The coaching staff is different. The front office is different (I guess Danny was there). His family is in Florida. The only real draw for him back in Salt Lake City is the fan base.

Bucks are basically at a point of dumping Marjon for a TPE if possible but we would trade him for Joe. 700k in salary and more in tax savings. Plus Joe's contract would be subsidized.
