And I don’t know how many times now, but you are not trading for Isaac for his offense.

He should definitely be a Kings target because of Kings putrid defense. They do not need any more offensive minded players and this season proves you cannot win without defense which Isaac provides at an elite level.

However, I agree with you regarding Foxx and planning for the inevitable.

no one outside of Orlando is wanting to pay Isaac for the 15 mpg every other game he can play

so if he plays over 13 more games at 12 min a game more this season he over achieves in your view? good to know

does he overachieve? no. because at MLE type money, it should be on someone that can play every night for 20 mpg or more. the legend of Isaac is like Paul Bunyan nowadays.

Without the previous injuries and minutes restriction-he’s easily commanding twice that.

I agree. but you cant ignore the injury history or the fact that he cant play 20+ mpg nightly.

This is the thing.

His own team refuses to risk playing him more than twenty minutes a night.

So how would they ever expect him to have any kind of real value to anyone else?

Keep is very simple derozan for Isaac and whatever filler orlando wants?

Derozan pace matches what orlando was doing and they can certainly cover his defense. Thats a risk I'd take.

i few magic fans looking to trade isaac but do not see front office even thinking about unless huge overpay that wont happen..
really do not see them taking on any more long term money unless a long term younger player derozan checks no box

well i think only 5 or less players played every game last yr...so in your world no one should get mle money...what if he will be overpaid by how much is he worth 10 a yr with 3 of 4 yrs not guaranteed? because a 4/5 mill a yr overpay seems pretty petty in 2025 nba

I think you are correct in this assessment. Any number of teams would (or should) line up to give him his current "value bet" contract if he was a free agent again because even the realistic case for Isaac is worth MLE money. But that's different from trading away valuable rotation minutes to get him -- you're compounding the gamble for limited upside.
