Lakers/Wizards

Post#1 » by KuzControl » Wed Jan 1, 2025 1:59 pm

Lakers get: Malcolm Brogdon, Justin Champagnie

Wizards get: Gabe Vincent, Jarred Vanderbilt, Jalen Hood-Schifino, 2029 LAL protected 1st, 2025 LAC 2nd

Why for Lakers: get a more offensively productive backup PG, add an intriguing prospect at backup SF, and get off of Vando’s money

Why for Wizards: get a potentially valuable first

Wiz will give you Patrick Baldwin Jr. instead to make the salaries work, Lakers can keep the 2nd. Champagnie is more intriguing than a Lakers 2nd with the way he's developing.

Yup. I'm in favor of the Brogdon for Vincent, Vanderbilt, protected FRP concept, but keep Champagnie out of it.

Another way to make it work would be:

Wizards trade: Brogdon, Gill
Lakers trade: Vincent, Vanderbilt, Wood, 2029 LAL protected 1st

Probably works out for the Lakers. Still run a 9 man rotation of:

Brogdon-Reaves-DFS-LeBron-AD
Christie-Knecht-Hachimura-Hayes

and maybe the untraded 2nd and Hood-Schiffino can get you a bench ballhandler (Alvarado?), or you just start Christie and use Brogdon off the bench to run the 2nd unit.
Where's the D?

Think we'd try and keep Wood over JHS, being a 'win now' team

Also if we're not getting Champagnie, the 1st would have to be even more protected than it otherwise would be

what about :

lal: vincent, vando, knecht

wiz: brogdon

is knecht worth the same (or more) than a protected first?

If we are going for Brogdon, I kind of want to keep Vando as an athletic POA defender, but still need a C

I dont even know if salaries would be legal then

Vincent, Milton, JHS, Cam, and Hayes for Brogdon....

A 5 for 1 isnt realistic

Then have Wood left for another deal for a backup C like Kessler

I prefer Lonzo since I have him somewhat replacing Vando and a backup pg

Vincent and Vando works for Lonzo straight up

If we arent going all in for Kessler (or if they want both 1sts), then go 2029 or 2031 1st with lotto protections

The lakers should not be using one of their few tradable 1sts on brogdon.

Don't think so... Lakers are high on Knecht at least for now, also I've heard tlk that Lakers don't want to give up on Vando any time soon, recent talks of him practicing with no contact, will take time for him to come back. Also not sure If Wiz want to take on longterm contract esp on an Injured player like Vando.
