Fwiw, I'm not interested in trading Butler at all right now. I've no sympathy for a player who quits on the team.

Keep it simple

Bucks in Butler
Bucks out Midds, Bobby, Pat, 2031 FRP

Miami in Midds, Bobby, Pat, MIL 2031 FRP
Miami out Butler, Richardson, Burks, SRP

Third team in Richardson, Burks, SRP, cash
Third team out nada

Way easier to unload 5 mil expirings than Pat whose contract doesn’t hurt Miami and can soak up minutes when needed without creating problems.

During my interaction with Chuck, I pointed that out. A third team has to be involved that can, and would, absorb Pat C

that said, no realistic Butler to MIL trade is going to be legal without a third team as MIL will need to cut $7M to get below the apron (and more due to roster spot issues). Hence Washington eating some salary with a TPE and getting compensated for it.

It wasn't a miss. It just needs Detroit to take Pat C.

That's a tweak to the deal.
