Tyson hasn’t even gotten enough G League run to evaluate, let alone pro run. That said, any value Cavs fans might assign him is not something you can carry over to the full team. Having a good camp and summer league doesn’t mean much.
Sucks to be the 12th or 13th man in an 11-deep rotation, but what can you do. Especially if your job is to try to be Josh Hart but you mostly play garbage time so you can’t play at that intensity level.

Cam probably gets traded because of the context (disgruntled, glut of talent), the issue here is that the value is ridiculous. Until Jaylon Tyson proves he belongs, you'll be hard pressed to get a good second round pick for him.
I’m not sure if you understand how being on a good team works as a rookie but the Cavs are 1st in the NBA for a reason. Cavs have Mitchell, Garland, Lavert, Okoro, Strus, Merril, and Jerome to play the 1-2 which is the reason he hasn’t played much. The purpose of the trade was to give Houston a big primary ball handler that can backup Green and FVV which Shepard is not. Tyson would likely get more PT on the Rockets than what Whitmore is currently getting there and Whitmore would likely get more run in Cleveland than he gets in Houston because of positional need.
Rest assured as a Spurs fan I probably understand a good deal better than you how good teams work. Just because he doesn't play in a contending team doesn't mean he'd play elsewhere, let alone well. That's just your assumption. Furthermore, you citing Okoro, Struss, Merrill and Jerome as if those were some unsurmountable obstacle and better than their Rockets counterparts is just funny. He might get even less of an opportunity on the Rockets. Bottom line, if he doesn't play you're not getting to value him as if he proved he can play, all excuses aside. His value didn't go up since drafted, and he won't get you Cam Whitmore. You can pretend whatever you like, but that's just the reality.

Re: Cleveland and Rockets
The Rockets are a very defense focused team. Third in points allowed and middle of the pack in scoring.
Brooks, Eason, Jabari and Amen can be strong on defense when focused on defense.
Whitmore fills a scoring role when needed. His defense is ok and his passing is terrible. But, he is focused on one thing which is scoring. Rockets can have him on the court with four defensively focused players and still score. Having a night when Vleet and Green are off - put in Whitmore for a bit and let them reset.
I agree he probably gets traded in a package but he is worth more to the team than a pick.

Yeah, the value here is way off.
If the Rockets like Tyson and Cleveland just wants to get off of some money, the Rockets can just take him into the NTMLE for draft picks.

Which would make no sense for a contender who needs to value cheap contracts.
Well at least we're not Detroit!

Just like it makes no sense for the Rockets to trade Cam Whitmore straight up for some dude everyone outside of Cleveland has to google.
