PHX gets Jabari, Whitmore, Tate, Landale, Holiday, JeffGreen, picks (the max would be the swap in 2025 and the PHX firsts in 2027 and 2029).

That’s really steep for Houston

Durant is still an amazing player but trading the equivalent of roughly 5 decent 1sts for a 36 year old when our core is 23 and under is a wild move.

If he doesn’t come significantly cheaper than that I’d really hope we pass.A 2 or 3 first equivalent is a lot for a short term investment, once we get to 4+ it seems like malpractice.

I guess the big question here is what does Houston look like after the trade?

Does this put them over the top to get a chip?

Over the top of the Cavs, Celtics or OKC? No. Competitive sure, hopefully.

The big question to me is why would it make sense to make that investment now when the core is 22 year olds, why spend 5 first for 1.5 years of KD today?

It’s a huge investment on something that will not pay dividends 3-4 years from now, when our main players enter their primes.

If we can get KD without significantly mortgaging our future for a dark horse shot at a ring? Go for it. If we have to significantly hamper our ability to improve our team in the future to do so, pass.

As stated, that is the maximum. Hopefully less but phx wants their picks to do a deal.
With Amen coming on, I feel KD makes us a favorite over OKC, Boston and anybody else.
Brooks/amen/Eason is going to d up on main opponents. Vleet, KD, Sengun going to score and still add some defense. Well, maybe not Vleet.
