Dal OKC
If these are Homer proposals, my bad. But if they can be salvaged, feel free to offer tweaks
Dallas gets: Aaron Wiggins, Kenrich Williams, '28 pick swap removed
OKC gets: Daniel Gafford, Markie Morris
Okc shores up their lineup. Gaff fills their only real hole as they have a glut of wings/guards, lack size.
Dal gets a solid, very affordable wing in the other Wiggins, and a backup 4. Wasn't sure if getting the swap back was too much, but if not, opens up Dallas with more assets for future moves.
Dallas can then use Grimes to net a backup 5. Would Chi do Jalen Smith for Grimes/Powell? Nets Grimesfor Sharp?

Re: Dal OKC
OKC should probably be trading dieng and jones as matching salary with pick(s) as needed instead of someone from their playoff rotation.
And yes 28 swap removed is asking for too much

I Imagine you mean for a lesser C than Gafford right? Because Gaff has more value than those other guys. I just think okc can't realistically play all those guys come postseason, so this makes them more balanced. I'd actually be scared to give them Gaff as a Mavs fan

OKC can add pick(s) with their useless matching to get someone as good or better than gafford. Specificalyl for gafford would need to involve a 3rd team to get something dallas wants

Re: Dal OKC
I would say Wiggins/Gafford are pretty similar. Both teams probably expect a late first in trading them.
Kenrich actually worth a second or so. The swap worth “3-4” seconds.
Looks really bad OKC

Re: Dal OKC
I would like to see OKC get one more experienced big. I realize this guy won't play with a healthy Chet/Hart, but they have so many assets, no reason to go into the playoffs with a potential needless hole if one of those guys gets hurt then.
This deal obviously favors Dallas too much, but I like the idea for OKC.

Re: Dal OKC
I like Gafford. But in adding a piece like that this season OKC wouldn’t dip into existing rotation guys like Wiggs with all the picks at their disposal. And of course I don’t really see these teams dealing and addressing perceived weaknesses.
I’d also rather have a big who can shoot it a little more and is more of a 4. But not sure the guy I want is available.

I’m fine significantly overpaying for the right player, but I don’t think that player is Gafford. I could be crazy, but I value both Wiggins and Kenrich more than I value Gafford. And if OKC really needs another big, they can just send out Ous and assets for someone like Kessler

I know our Wolves fans here would hate the idea, but I'm sure there is a price point OKC could live with that Minny would think they have to take for Naz right?

Re: Dal OKC
Good feedback, it's hard for me to make fair trades at times with my team as I may tend to overrated my guys.
So removing Kenrich and any pick considerations, is there a deal that can be had with Wiggins and Gaff as the base?

I think if Dallas wants Wiggins, and Presti is looking to make a bigger move that requires more salary than their end of rotation guys, you build it off of Maxi+Dallas’ first.
Whether Dallas can get a second back or not, I don’t know but probably not a good one if they did..
And at that point, Maxi is kind of the big OKC should want… in description at least

they probably ask for 2031 1st instead and at which point dallas should say no. they have plenty of 2025 1sts and not enough roster space as is

Re: Dal OKC
Maxi auditioning for OKC last night by actually taking some open shots (also still passed up on too many). No idea what has happened to his confidence but it would be a neat little add for Dallas if he could somehow find it.

OKC currently only has two 2025 firsts. But even if Miami sneak into the play-in “3” isn’t some crazy number. He had more last year.
Presti has shown he knows how to delay firsts and make follow up deals even if everyone on here does not think GM’s know how to do so.
Just don’t think teams turn down the best offer because they feel they would be unable to make a follow up trade. And I’m not sure who is trading a first for Wiggins that’s better than Dallas’ 2025 first?.
And - taking off my Dallas goggles for a second... A team as good as OKC is not be trading for Maxi the player. So this is most likely a leg in a bigger team trade like I said..

Yeah avoiding the specific idea here this is one of my soapboxes. I see a ton of posters reject deals I can't imagine their team actually rejecting because they don't have the imagination of follow up deals. Especially odd here since Presti has demonstrated his ability to push assets back quite clearly. Or to move up for a target.
It's like all these Butler deals getting rejecting for the nitpickiest of reasons despite being exactly what what asked for in the last deal that was rejected. We reject the good in search of the perfect far too often around here.

Imo it's harder this year because i imagine Utah and Brooklyn will both be trying to do the same thing. Orlando should too if they are not pushing in their chips for a win now upgrade.

If OKC wants a big they could get RWIII for Dieng, Jones and the lowest 25 FRP.

Williams has been my "end of bench playoff insurance" guy I've been kicking the tires on. Don't hate the Gafford idea, but agree that it's a bit too steep for OKC. RWIII shouldn't be expensive, and though the injury risk is high, the upside is huge. OKC could afford to punt a bit on him.
