Mavs/Suns/Blazers
MAVS
In:Nurkic/Avdija
Out: Gafford/Grimes/Maxi/O-Max/Mavs25/SRP25
the Mavs get the missing piece..Avdija has the perfect skill set/position/age and contract for the Mavs...Mavs would look for a 4/5 that can be bought out or sign the other Morris twin
Lively/Nurkic/Powell
PJ/Marshall
Avdija/Klay
KI/Hardy
Luka/SD/Exum
SUNS
In: Gafford/Grimes/SRP(by MAVS)
Out: Nurkic/SUNS 31
Gafford/Richards
KD/Dunn
Royce/Grimes
Booker/Allen
Tyus/Beal
gets a big improvement at the 5 and depth by adding a 3D guard/wing.. youth/defense/athleticism..
This change allows them to exchange Allen if they see it necessary
the SRP should be decent
BLAZERS
In:Maxi/O-Max/MAVS 25/Suns31
Out:Avdija
still very far from being competitive, they get 2 FRP (one potentially very good) and a Wing prospect...this change helps them deepen the tank

Portland just gave up 2 firsts to get Deni. They never had any delusion that they were close to competing. They wanted him for the long haul. If Deni asked out, I could see Portland considering it, but otherwise, I don't see Portland moving Deni

Hard no for POR.
Paid 2 FRP including a lotto pick for DA and he has not disappointed.
He’s the best player on our team and on a great contract. Would need a 25 lotto pick instead of the DAL pick to consider this.

I'm with the other Blazers fans. They gave up a lot to get him and he's playing pretty well lately. Blazers GM hangs up the phone without responding to this offer.

Off of value, this might be a good deal for Phoenix. But they should never do it. Gafford and Grimes aren’t worth trading a pick 7 years out, for any team.. If Phoenix does their deal, Dallas should just do it and find the win now piece… But Phoenix wouldn’t..
And for Portland, Dallas should add their top 6ish protected 2031 first IMO. Or at least the right to swap with Phoenix first?
Deni feels like a really amazing fitting last starter and helps the Vegas guys save money through Kyrie’s contract. And Nurk should be able to back up Lively just fine

That’s not going to do it for POR.

I don’t see Portland turning it down with both 2031 firsts. But the OP doesn’t seem fixable for Phoenix, so no reason to try to find the correct overpay for the other team.

I do, so I guess we will have to agree to disagree.
POR has already given up a lotto pick and and unprotected FRP. No guarantee the inbound picks will be as valuable. 25 lotto pick or no deal. POR would rather just keep Deni but couldn’t say no to that.

It was the 14th pick and not just “lottery pick” I know the 14th pick is a lottery pick.. but adds a bit of context and a bit less excitement.
We can disagree about how big an overpay is needed, but I do think these 3 firsts are more valuable than what Portland gave up. But that’s not the problem with the OP anyways? without Phoenix doing a deal they should never do… the deal isn’t fixable for Portland?
OKC is the team that should overpay for Deni. And they have a probable 2025 lottery pick so that deal should get done..

OKC could probably get just about any player they covet.
Distant picks aren’t going to do it as the main value coming back in a trade for Deni. Those picks might be close to worthless.

Re: Mavs/Suns/Blazers
I'm closer to considering this than my Rip City brethren because I don't see Deni still around by the time the Blazers play meaningful games again. Even so, I'd hold out for better picks if Portland trades Deni. Probably nobody gives them a high-upside 2026 pick, but that's what I'd want.

Re: Mavs/Suns/Blazers
Putting aside that POR mgmt loves Deni, pursued him for a while, then paid a fairly hefty price (2 1st's (maybe both lotto?) + (2) 2nd's) to acquire him, so I doubt they would offload him for anything less or even equal to what they paid.
The question I have is, that even if a team, let's say OKC, was willing to trade their highest 25' 1st (currently PHI pick @ #8) in a deal for Deni, are any of the players potentially available at that pick even worth what Deni Avdija (who just turned 24 BTW) produces right now? I think that is debatable
All indications are that this draft has (2) players (Flagg\Harper) at the top and then 4-5 players (Bailey\Jakucionis\Edgecome\Newell (most likely) in the next tier and then after that any number of players that could range from #7-#15 I just don't see any guarantee that any of those players would be better than Deni is now and they wouldn't be much cheaper either.
DAL pick is @ #19 and people are placing a ton of value on the 31 1st from PHX, a team with an owner not afraid to spend. Does anyone want to bet that pick on, if PHX decides to pull the plug and reset in the next 1-2 years that they won't be able to offload Durant\Booker for draft capital\young players and\or get their picks back from HOU who now owns most of them? OR clear salary and sign a big name FA?
I don't think betting against a team with an aggressive owner being lottery bad SEVEN years\drafts from now for a player that is young, producing and on a very friendly (descending) contract for the next 4 years, is that great of bet.

I think for Blazers to trade Deni right now, it would have to be an obviously better package than they traded for him, not a debatably better package.

Yeah this pretty much sums it up. I'm pretty sure deni is worth more to Portland than he is to most other teams

Re: Mavs/Suns/Blazers
Suns 31 1st has been seriously underrated value wise. No way phx considers moving for this type of a deal.

Regardless of what the Blazers paid, for both Suns and Mavericks, this os an overpay and resources are best invested elsewhere.
