Orlando / Portland - Possible Lakers Inclusion

Post#1 » by DaVoiceMaster » Fri Jan 24, 2025 10:34 pm

Admittedly, I've not seen many Orlando games so I don't know exactly how important some of their players are. This is a rather large trade because I am trying to unload Portland of their veteran players. Here goes nothing...

Orlando Magic receive:
Simons, Grant, RW3, and Thybulle

Portland Trailblazers receive:
Isaac, KCP, Anthony, Howard, Da Silva, Wagner, Orlando 1st, Denver 1st

Orlando is trying to win, Portland is not. Orlando receives 4 playable players to add to their core. Portland gets young talent and picks to help with their rebuild.

Orlando Magic Roster
PG - Simons / Joseph
SG - Black / Suggs / Thybulle / Queen
SF - Banchero / Grant / Houstan
PF - Wagner / Walker
. C - WCJ / Williams

Portland Trailblazers Roster
PG - Scoot / Anthony
SG - Sharpe / KCP / Rupert
SF - Camara / Murray / Howard
PF - Avdija / Da Silva / Banton
.C - Ayton / Clingan / Isaac / Reath

Waive - Wagner

Portland could flip Isaac and Banton to the Los Angeles Lakers for Rui and Vincent, but Portland would need additional compensation to make that happen. Unless you'd rather have Ayton!

With Wagner and Banchero can’t see any way ORL would be interested in Grant and if they need that defense you might as well drop KCP and Thybulle from the deal.

KCP might be struggling to shoot this year but at least he’s playing.

I like a version with KCP and Grant left out of it (too many PFs already)
investigate Adam Silver

Makes sense. Just from reading various threads, it did not seem like Orlando fans were all that happy with KCP. His contract is twice as big as Thybulle's and I think he may have an extra year, as well.

I was looking at a 3 man rotation with Wagner, Banchero, and Grant at the two forward positions, not to mention I'd like to be rid of his contract.

OP is too greedy imo. massive overpay for Orlando. Grant is not positive value, RWIII and Simons combined maybe gets you a 1st and Thybulle hasn't even played yet

That is a lot of money to tie up at F without a starting quality pg on the roster.

Can't say I disagree with this.

Yeah, OP is too big. Simons is a decent pickup for Orlando but they really need guards more than forwards and bigs.

As much as I like Grant, I think you have to pay to get off his contract right now.

ORL really just needs some backcourt upgrades; if they were to go for anyone on the Blazers roster, it might be Avdija, but POR probably wants to keep him.

ORL would t want to pay what POR would want.
