Dallas - Phoenix

Post#1 » by Godaddycurse » Fri Jan 24, 2025 10:48 pm

Assuming Dallas is mailing in its season..

Phoenix trade: Nurkic, CLE 2027 1st, DEN 2025 2nd
Phoenix receive: Gafford, Powell

Dallas trade: Gafford, Powell, Exum
Dallas receive: Nurkic, CLE 2027 1st

random team eats Exum for DEN 2025 2nd

Why for Phoenix: upgrade C rotation
Why for Dallas: get a 1st for their backup C

I don’t think Dallas actually plans on mailing it in.. beating SGA/Jalen isn’t a good start to that.

But I think this is probably pretty fair even if Dallas doesn’t/shouldn’t do it.

Getting greedy, maybe you push for Oso to Dallas? Or a Philly 2nd for 2025 first swap?

Dallas is 1.5 games out of the top 6 and does anyone have that much confidence in both LA teams to hold on? I do not see Dallas punting on the season.

That said, the value seems reasonably close? And I like Dallas having more little fluff to grease deals with since they currently have so little.

Probably a no from me, but I get it.

OKC want to get in and figure out a way to get PJ Washington into Oklahoma. Got to have him with us rather than against us .

Don't agree this is fair or close. Gaff is likely worth that pick, so what does Dalget for taking on the albatross Nurk?

The pick is for the upgrade. With Powell including Dallas barely takes on any money at all. You are trying to double count.

Yeah, Dallas may find themselves out of the PO and tank it, but they will compete until Luka is back and evaluate where they stand.

It's only 1 year after this.

Gafford is better than Nurkic, so Dallas gets a pick for the upgrade. The money due Gafford/Powell and the money due Nurkic is really close. So Dallas isn't due extra value for money they are not taking on.

You don't have to like the trade. Just trying to help you understand how he arrived at value. :D
