Cavs/Jazz/Bulls

Post#1 » by JJ_PR » Sat Jan 25, 2025 12:50 am

Cavs get: Collin Sexton and Dalen Terry
Jazz get: Ayo Dosunmu and Caris LeVert
Bulls get: Georges Niang, Johnny Juzang and two 2nds via Cle ('25 Bucks, '27 Nuggets)

Why?
Cavs bolster their roster by adding a familiar face and a tall, athletic wing and they duck the tax.
Jazz unload Sexton in favor of an expiring and a good player with a team friendly contract.
Bulls get a couple solid players and some assets for a possible rebuild.

It makes zero sense for Cleveland to bring Sexton back, and I'm not even sure if Terry belongs in the NBA.
Well at least we're not Detroit!

Would a Sexton return to Cleveland be a welcome change for either side? I have no idea.

I like it from the Jazz side. I'd even send another SRP Chicago's way.

Based on fit with the rest of the roster, I would have both Strus and Ty Jerome over Sexton on the Cavs current depth chart. It is becoming increasingly obvious that we need to spend what limited trade pieces we have on backup big man depth.

Not giving up Ayo for second round picks, he's worth more than that.

I like Ayo, but Sexton is a much better player. I think we are owed here. Also, no interest in LeVert at all.

Ayo is one of the few keepers the Bulls have. The kid's a solid player, perfect 3rd guard who I want to start at PG

He's not a keeper, he's a sell high candidate and this is not high.

Ayo has started for the Bulls in the past and not just 2 games due to injuries. He's a good teammate, defender, plays downhill going to the basket, needs to shoot more because he's a good not great shooter. urea young Jazz team hoping to start winning could use him,so do the Bulls. Need at least another 2nd hoping one of them nets a player because two bench guys isn't enough

No don't see it.

If Sexton gets traded it will be to a team that needs guard scoring (ORL, Clips, Spurs, Lakers, Det) for draft capital and/or prospect.

If Utah is high on Ayo they should just deal directly with the Bulls. My guess is Utah still wants to tank for 2 more seasons esp with OKC owning their top 8-10 protected FRP thru '26. It's too early in the process for Utah to go after good roleplayers such as Ayo.
