Again, Lavine to Orl, with Det
Orl is on a slide, but they should not keep losing. Way too much talent
They could really use Lavine's scoring, plus his D is not so terrible anymore.
KCP to Det
Lavine to Orl
Hardaway/Howard/Harris/Den 1st to Chi
Det gets a nice vet upgrade, bringing KCP home. He'd fit well with Cade as Det makes their playoff push
Orl gets an All Star where they need it, and would be very dangerous. Yes, the 3rd year would be $, but it would only be a year and they should be a Conf Finals threat, at least
Bulls get a nice reset. They clear A TON of future $, take a look at Howard and add a 1st
I know Orl might want White instead-then the deal is easier-Harris/Howard/Den 1st

Re: Again, Lavine to Orl, with Det
KCP is not being moved this early, he has played less than 10 games with both Paolo/Franz (if I’m not mistaken). This is more a summer trade than anything unfortunately (I do want Orlando to be active just seems very unlikely regardless of their current need).
And for some reason if they did consider a deal of this magnitude, a feeling in me thinks they use Isaac’s bloated 25M and Wagner’s (Mo) expiring as the main filler contracts and likely Harris (which coincidentally matches Lavines salary perfect).

Re: Again, Lavine to Orl, with Det
For DET: if this is KCP for THJ, well duh, yeah, we'll take it. No take backs!
Really hate this for ORL. Maybe they will make some noise in the playoffs this year, or maybe not. Injuries happen, but it shouldn't change their approach to building a contender with a fairly long window,
For trades at this TDL, ORL needs to be thinking about where they will be in 18 months, with either 70% or 75% of the cap devoted to Paolo-Franz-Suggs, plus some cheap and relatively inexpensive Cs. That's a good core, but not enough. They need more guard play and good role-player backups around that core to leap from "pretty good" to contender.
What ORL should prioritise is finding a good/great starting PG to fit with the core, and the last thing they should do is tie up a large chunk of the cap on positional/role overlap with Paolo-Franz-Suggs

In a no-win argument, the first poster to Let It Go will at least retain some peace of mind

I know Isaac's contract is complicated, but that could work. Mo/Isaac/Howard/Harris/Den pick for Lavine/Craig?

I agree this is good for Det, but their cap space is valuable
For Orl, I think Suggs/Lavine/Wag/Paolo/Carter, with a solid bench, could make the conf finals this year. Lavine's only 29 and playing super-efficient ball. They are last (I think) in 3 pt shooting, and few are as pure as Lavine. Yes, the 2026-27 season gets expensive, but the cap will keep rising, and Lavine will expire

Re: Again, Lavine to Orl, with Det
I mean maybe, but LaVine in for KCP certainly doesn't make the Magic favorites over Cleveland/Boston for sure and I'd still have the Bucks/Knicks ahead of them.

Re: Again, Lavine to Orl, with Det
Lavine and Beal are out of the question for ORL's bookkeeper. Paolo and Franz will remain the offensive engines, but they do need backcourt offensive help. They can get Simons or Sexton for a fraction of the trade price and half or less of the salary to do enough of what they need. Lavine at $25m would be great...Lavine pushing $50m for two more years is a non-starter, imo. ORL is never going to be a big spender, imo. The aprons are approaching fast as it is, with their rookie extensions coming on...I'd guess they're just not in the market for that kind of additional deal.

This is the most realistic option, maybe looping a 3rd team that values Isaac and those assets going to Chicago.
However, as good as Lavine is I still find it extremely difficult and unlikely that he gets this kind of value. Expirings, young prospect AND a FRP.
If he has this kind of value he would have been dealt a long time ago imo.
Substituting the FRP with a few seconds seems more reasonable.
But again, I doubt Orlando messes up the books for Lavine ESPECIALLY considering Paolos max that’s incoming.
It’s just unfortunate that’s the numbers don’t make sense especially when Orlando can target players making half of what Lavine makes for roughly the same value, albeit not as good but will play a needed role (Simons/Sexton/White etc).

Re: Again, Lavine to Orl, with Det
That #25 DEN pick isn't going to turn anything around. The Bulls trade their SF and get a replacement in THJ, so how do they look at Howard or get Harris off the bench behind, Giddey, White, Ball, Dosunmu, THT
which two do they release getting 3 for 1 ?

Everything does not need to be figured out in half a season.
Harris is waived.
THT is likely waived (min. guy)
THJ is an expiring and likely bought out
Ball is likely bought out if not traded.

Re: Again, Lavine to Orl, with Det
I don't see the Magic paying Lavine $46 and $49 mil the next two seasons to be a 3rd option.
It's the same reason Ingram hasn't been traded. Both are good players but you can't pay them like they are #1 franchise guy with the new apron rules.
I still think Detroit is potentially the best spot for Lavine. Cade is really the only other guy on their roster who will be getting anywhere near max money the next 2 years.

Of course...Trading Lavine is NOT a win-now move, it's an overdue big step towards the rebuild. They could maybe flip THJ to a playoff team, maybe even Harris for some srps. But, they shouldn't worry about playing vet rentals over prospects...if that's the case, keep Lavine
but it's not in the cards...only way ORL ever brings in this kind of salary is to move one of their big 3 out. Suggs could maybe be imagined to be moved, but very unlikely, and certainly not this one.

that would put them in 2nd apron next yr..easy pass...why would magic be adding pick? should be other way maybe even 2..and magic would still pass

I’m here as well, why does Phoenix need to add several picks to offload Beal which is considered one of the worst contracts in the league and then Lavine magically is considered a positive asset that does not require any additional assets to offload.
Lavine can say he wants to stay in Chicago all he wants, but all that means to me is that no teams are genuinely interested in trading for him as a positive asset.

I understand about the money but Lavine is a MUCH better player than Beal now. Better on defense, much better on offense and younger/cheaper.
Lavine is playing like an All Star again. His 64% TS is elite, and he's passing better than ever. He's not a great first option, but as a 3rd option he's the best in the league

not many 3rd option players that make almost 50 mill a yr with player options that have history of missed games as him are there?
that have much value? yes he has had great few months...but chance of getting 3 yrs of that...easy pass

Correct again. Lavine is a great player and no one is refuting that, but he’s a 3rd option getting payed like a franchise cornerstone in which affects his value directly.
The apron rules really hit the hardest on those players that franchises had no choice but to max to retain the asset, but after all said and done will probably will be forced to add assets to offload if they truly wanted to reset.
