GSW/LAL

Post#1 » by StaticRoar » Sat Jan 25, 2025 5:29 pm

GSW gets:
Austin Reaves
Rui Hachimura
Jared Vanderbilt
Jalen Hood-Schifino
2025 LAC 2nd
2025 LAL 2nd

LAL gets:
Draymond Green
Dennis Schroder
Kyle Anderson

Why for GSW?
The Warriors have given Draymond too much free reign, and his antics have had a negative impact on the team. Bring in Austin Reaves, who can make plays when Warriors have a 4-on-3 after Steph gets blitzed. And also two impact forwards like Rui Hachimura (41% 3PT) and Jared Vanderbilt (plus defender). They can also package the 2nds for a starting center in another trade. The Warriors come out of this trade with a lot more depth.

Why for LAL?
The LeBron and friends saga continues with the addition of his close friend Draymond Green and Dennis Schroder joining the Lakers for a 3rd time. A LeBron/Draymond/AD Big Three has championship experience and would be the best defensive frontcourt in the league.

You must be Draymond in disguise because he is the only person who likes this deal.

Why GS says no: Curry thinks Green is important. Trading Green for youth and depth is telling Curry that it's over and he might sit himself the rest of the season.
FWIW if Green was on the table to be traded, he should be going to Miami for Jimmy

Why Lakers say no: LeBron is at his best with spacing. While they really just want a center who can do more banging to free up AD, they probably prefer a shooting big which is why i expect the Vuc trade. They could also be a sneaky fit for Nurk. Green basically is a worse LeBron right now. Can't shoot. Can't drive. Can defend a little. Not a plus rebounder. Playmaker, passer, agitator still fine. Very redundant with LeBrons skill set. Lastly, no way they part with Reeves, who really is one of their rare positive assets. Reeves is scoring nearly 20ppg and is essential to the Lakers scoring needs.

Why Lebron says no: He wants to win another chip and getting a old and gray Draymond is not moving that needle. If he wanted to part with Reeves, he could get Beal, Butler or an actual primary scoring weapon.

As much as Dray’s buddy-buddy with Bron, the fit of those two + AD is horrific

Add in giving up Reaves… yeah a hard, hard pass

Most not all Laker fans don't want Green, so that's a hard pass for me. Also not keen on Dennis either, some are but not for me.
I also don't think Lakers looking to trade Vando this season esp since his just coming back In today's game vs GSW :). Let's hope he comes back and stays healthy.

Can't wait to see tom Vando today.

Yeah, I don't see the Lakers adding seconds, if anything, probably would ask for them.

Lakers can't take back more salary than they're sending out.

I just see the same Lakers being offered and no team is biting. Going to have to offer the pick eventually.
