Mavs trade
Gafford + Naji
Mavs get:
DD
Kings trade:
DD + picks
Kings get:
John Collins
Jazz trades:
John Collins
Jazz get:
Naji, Gafford + picks
Why:
Kings add size and move a piece that already talked about leaving when rumors of fox started. Collins has performed great, and the size should help interior defense considering Sabonis is a bit undersized
Mavs add a scorer for the surplus of Gafford at the 3 and Naji who is good but can't score in bunches
Jazz got paid for taking Collins, and now gets a pick and valuable tradeable assets in return.
The question here is, what pick should be traded? The Fake Charlotte might not be enough, Wolves 31? a roll of the dice good enough to convince the jazz?
Kings:
Monk/Devin
Lavine/Keon
Keegan/Lavine/McD
John Collins/Trey Liles
Sabonis/Len
Mavs:
Irving/Spence
Klay/Max Christie/Grimes
DD/Exum
AD/PJ
Lively/AD

Re: Dallas and Kings get their final trade with Jazz
Utah is not trading the most valuable player(s) here. Why are they getting the picks?

Utah does not want these players, but they are also each individually more valuable than Collins.

Kings gotta hold onto that Wolves 31 1st. That could end up being very valuable even if its 6 years down the road.

Trading for Collins involves seconds and expirings (Lyles, Len and absorb the balance or add whatever minor pieces needed).
No need to have to ship a needed player also. Another team can be involved if needed to absorb a small amount to make it work.

The OP has no legs, but there really isn't a way to get Collins to the Kings without the salaries of at least one of Lavine, Sabonis, Derozan, or Monk... OR all of Murray, Lyles, and Carter. I'd say the idea is pretty much dead.

Oh there are ways but it almost certainly requires a third team to absorb something. The TPE’s we have aren’t quite big enough.
They are enough to handle a lot of other guys and we are cleared enough below the tax line to absorb the difference of a player up to 18-20 million.

A third team and/or the Kings' TPEs won't help to bring on Collins if they aren't willing to trade one of their top four OR all of their next three highest salaries. (A three-for-one deal is barely tenable midseason; more than that really isn't.) The math just doesn't work. Feel free to try to work something else out if you think I'm wrong.

Re: Dallas and Kings get their final trade with Jazz
I don't think we trade demar. I think we use the tpe to get a forward.
That said, I'd really just cut Utah out here and take the Dallas package for myself.
Sabonis/Gafford
Keegan/Lyles
Lavine/Naji
Keon/Carter
Monk
We'd need a backup pg, but we could try to find one on the buyout market.

Dallas needs a shooter and DeMar isn’t it.

DeMar shoots just fine. He's fairly automatic between 12 and 20 feet.vxmike wrote:Dallas needs a shooter and DeMar isn’t it.
Kings cur the Jazz right out. I'd rather grab Gafford, Marshall for more depth.
