Simple Sac & Portland

Post#1 » by LightTheBeam » Tue Feb 4, 2025 7:28 am

Portland out: Kris Murray
Kings out: McDermott + bulls 2nd 2028

Why for sac? Kings need to do something more than this. This is a start and very low risk dart throw at Kris. A 6'8 forward we desperately need, and might unlock something playing with his brother. At worst we confuse the opposing team.

Why for Portland? They get a 2nd for a guy they likely aren't going to invest a ton developing.

Yeah but the Murrays can share a locker and Jersey.

I was hoping and expecting this to be one of the first replies. You did not disappoint. Jroy have it all.

Meh.. McDerrmott is who he is. Can shoot the lights out, but can't stick defensively.

How many offensive only guys can a roster have? Kris has same body type (literally) as our best defender. And maybe getting them together unlocks something we haven't seen in Portland. We have plenty of 2nds, maybe its one of the later ones instead of the bulls one. But honestly Sac needs to take some chances.

Think of Nesmith, Ziaire Williams, Grimes, Toppin, etc.. Plenty of examples of guys who didn't look good at their 1st stop, got traded or given away for free and became a solid bench pieces.

Maybe its a bust, but it's just as likely as a 2028 2nd round pick.

I actually like Murray. He's nothing special, but could be a decent role player. I would not do this trade as a Blazers fan.
