TOR/PHX - Barrett for Beal

Post#1 » by Dr Positivity » Thu Feb 6, 2025 7:58 am

Toronto trades:
RJ Barrett
Chris Boucher
Davion Mitchell

Phoenix trades
Bradley Beal
2025 1st (least favorable of Uta/Min/Cle)
2027 1st (least favorable of Uta/Min/Cle)

Why for Toronto? Beal is a better fit with Barnes and Ingram and they get some 1sts. Maybe they can have a pump and dump effect of raising Beal's value and making him an asset.

Why for Phoenix? They try Barrett's on ball playmaking fit with Booker and Durant and they can get under second apron next year and save an incredible amount of real money.

I was not a big fan of Barrett (but his improvement in recent years is encouraging) and I doubt that he is a good fit between Booker and Durant, but the Suns should have to seriously consider this trade if Beal's NTC wouldn't block it anyway.

No way Beal waives his NTC to go to Toronto. No offense to Toronto at all (I'd live there).

Eh, the timeline is wrong for Toronto and they lose size on the wing. I doubt Beal would give up his NTC for Toronto.

I don't think Toronto or Beal sign off on this.

I’m really not sure how the financials work with Ingram/IQ and Barnes. Didn’t look deep, but feels very expensive (unacceptably) for two late firsts.

And no idea how Beal feels about Toronto... But it is a beautiful city.
