We’ve never seen a guy “re traded” after a failed physical for equal or more value. I think the chance for Charlotte to get good value as they once had is solely if they sign Mark long term and keep playing him and he’s healthy for multiple years, and he’s traded later on. But if something happens this summer? Or in next year? I don’t see huge value.

When? It's happened like 2-3 times in the last 20 years that I can think of and the most significant name in those instances was Gary Payton II and I guess Tyson Chandler. Not exactly a large sample size to base off of.

Yeah, generally teams have tried to trade the players again, and the value is either so low, they can't move them, or they get rescinded again.

Donatas Motiejunas got rescinded, Houston tried to re-sign him, and he failed that physical and was out of the league shortly.
Tyson Chandler got rescinded, and was traded for another health risk in Emeka Okafor, before being flipped again shortly after.

But generally, they've then expired within a year and moved on, or disappeared from the league. Ignoring the Chris Paul discussion, as that wasn't rescinded for any claims of health issues, but merely competitive claims.

That ship has sailed, it was an overpay to begin with and with everything that happened they're not going to get anywhere near that haul. Are the Hornets ready to offer Mark Williams an extension in line with their valuation of him? If not, things are not going to get better... it's probably best for all parties involved that Mark Williams finds a new home.

By "all parties involved" you seems to be excluding the Hornets Organization. It is not best for the Hornets to sell low on Mark. The best thing for the Hornets and Mark Williams is to see him return to uniform, play the rest of the season with health and numbers, and then try to seek an extension that benefits both side.

Its not the Hornets fault that the Lakers got cold feet

Did the Lakers get cold feet or does Mark have bad feet? Or is it back? Or both? Or something else?

The Lakers are in full 'win-now' mode, and after pulling off the heist they did for Luka, they moved the remaining pieces that should’ve been part of that deal to fill the biggest hole on the roster. It’s a glaring need that could make or break their title hopes, especially with LeBron's window closing. I have a hard time believing they were too concerned about the price they paid, given the circumstances.

But to use a house analogy...

If you and a buyer agree on an offer that may be way above market value, open escrow, and then uncover significant foundation issues during inspections, resulting in the deal falling apart, then sure you’re not obligated to later sell for less than the original offer. However, it's unrealistic to expect future buyers to pay the same inflated price, especially now that the information about the foundation issues is out there.
