Coby doesn’t start for this Orlando team and is up for a pricey extension. Orlando is going from one of the lowest payroll in the league to top-5 expensive when factoring in Paolos max.

White is probably looking for a place to start and if he’s not he’s looking for starter money (in which I don’t blame him).

I think Reaves makes a lot more sense.

Lastly, Bulls are kinda operating from a position of weakness.

They have Coby, Giddey AND Jones all up for extensions, Ball just recently resigned and still have Carter, Dosunmu signed. Decisions will have to be made and quickly.

Right now, White absolutely starts, if we are playing the better players. And LA isnt trading Reaves, unless its a stupidly dumb trade by another team. And the Bulls arent trading from weakness, they are already resetting. They can just as easily keep White.

I don't know how the Lakers' front office works, but I believe they look out for their guys. Reaves is a fan favorite who took a discount to extend there and I don't think they'll move him without an overpayment. However, I think they could have Knecht for a FRP.

did they look out when they traded Russell to Brooklyn? Or traded Davis?

The return in both cases... seemed like a better fit (Russell) or a bargain (Luka)

im not saying the return for the Lakers wasnt good. Just that they werent looking out for the players traded. As will happen with most if not all players when teams trade them.

media pointing out how Luka still being deferential (more than usual) for now. Getting his feet under him...they did not trade for an MVP-level playmaker to do that...Reaves' game will be seriously compromised by Luka. Reaves could be the odd man out as they have very few other pieces to offer if they want to make a splash. LAL isn't stupid or short-sighted enough to do the ORL "family" BS with a 40 yo near-GOAT and Luka now in house.
