If Luka wants to leave smarter for him sign extension first then force a trade. It's only his path to recover his super max money.

He can never recover that 130m. In a snt he can go wherever he wants and that team will get him on the cheap so it still can contend. Think fox+ 1 1st or so. No reason to extend first, will just put him at the whim of gms again and the team trading for him getting talent and asset poor

Sometimes u have to think for yourself. Does that even seem logical to u? Who says he doesnt snt for that contract anyway? Extending it before a deal is made is the worst thing he can do if he doesnt see his future in LA

Bc the rules for extension and snt trade are different And have different salary increase limits?

You can dig on marks twitter. He has infographic explaining all Luka options.

He can extend and secure the money then request a trade? Like every other star has done before requesting a trade.

But if he extends first, he cant win. He is going into his prime, if he extends first his price will be so high that the team he goes to would have no assrts and lose their players. If he extends, how long would it even be before he could be traded?

Him extending is his path to recover super max money. He can extend before he a free agent.

I leave it to the CBA experts but i think he can be traded instantly since it’s less than 4 years.

Luka needs the lakers for a sign and trade anyways. Might as recover the bag.

Lakers aren’t going to take a ton of dead money just so he can go to where he want to go. Might as well let him walk.

I dont think luka cares much about the actual money at all. He plays for his fame and legacy. Not getting the supermax making him the most payed ever is a knock on that. I dont think he is intrested in doing lakers favours if it means he cant win his titles, since he sees them as part of the betrayal. Is he says he want spurs and only spurs, and his agent tells them to only offer fox and a 1st, lakers more or less have to take it or get nothing

If he don’t care about money he can sign for any team he wants for the vet min lol at lakers being part of the betrayal

But we moving field goal posts. It’s clear Luka benefits greatly signing the extension.

Luka and Fox expire at the same time. Fox plus a first won’t even be possible next summer. If Luka wants the spurs his best path to get there is still signing the extension
