Hawks/Wolves. Trae Young to Minnesota

Post#1 » by Astaluego » Fri Mar 7, 2025 11:56 am

HAWKS
In:DDV/Dillingham/Randle/Pistons FRP
Out:Trae Young

DDV/Dillingham
Daniels/Mann/Bufkin
Johnson/Risacher/Krejci
Randle/Niang/Barlow
OO/Draft

Hawks move Young before having to deal with his next extension.. They get a high-potential prospect, to replace T. Young and get even younger..plus 2 super solid veterans, to keep winning games and create a winning culture.. they get another FRP (they would own up to 3). so it would probably open up another consolation trade, ideally to move up in the draft (maybe with the Bulls lacking extra future assets?) to get K. Maluach

WOLVES
In:Young
Out:DVV/Randle/Dillingham /Pistons FRP

Trae/Conley
Edwards/Clark/Shannon
McDaniels/NAW??
Naz Reid/L.Miller /Minnot?
Gobert/Garza/FA

The Wolves have been continually mired in trade rumors .so they are probably looking to do something big.. Here I think they get a missing piece, with a super elite playmaker..I would call it a perfect fit for Ant/McDaniels/Gobert..Trae Young comes in at the perfect age (just entering his prime)

If Atlanta moves Trae, bringing back two vets who best position is also the best position of Atlanta's best players seems like an awful move.

I'm in the camp of Randle having neutral at worst value and slightly positive. I don't mind the value for Atlanta if they plan on being competitive, but the roster fits aren't ideal. That said, I like Randle as a hub with guys like Mann, DDV, Daniels and Risacher around him and Jalen Johnson as a finisher.

I'm not sure Trae fixes Minnesota's problems.

I personally wouldn't include DDV. I think the Wolves would also have to include Gobert to make salaries work. I would include Shannon Jr who has shown a lot of potential.

Trae Young
Filler

for

Randle/Gobert (this would be like 50-55m to match Trade)
Dillingham
Shannon JR
Detroit 1st
