Heat/NOP/Lakers....Bam/Zion/Reaves

Post#1 » by Astaluego » Sun Mar 23, 2025 9:44 am

HEAT
In:Zion
Out: Adebayo

The Heat aren't going to do a deep rebuild, so they're going for the "available" player with the highest ceiling and hoping he overcomes all his physical issues with a strong culture and one of the best coaches in the game. Zion will be thrilled to land in Miami, so he's probably very motivated. The Heat are doing this before Bam's salary increase makes him lose much of his value.
It also gets younger. With a quintet that would look something like this.

Herro/Wiggins/Robinson/Zion/Ware

NOP
In:Reaves/Knecht/Hachimura/Lakers31/Swap 30 and 32
Out:Zion

Take advantage of the fact that Zion has recovered some value to trade him, I think it's clear that Zion doesn't want to be there... this happens if NOP leaves the Draft with any of the wings/forwards with star potential (Flagg/Bailey) .. Reaves gives them a guard just entering his prime, with a bargain salary and who should fit well in the backcourt with Murray, when he recovers.. they get extra assets and picks + Swap to boost their reorganization (they could make some consolidation trades) and after moving on from Ingram, they leave Zion to forget, season after season derailed by availability issues

LAKERS
In: Adebayo
Out:Reaves/Hachimura/Knecht/Lakers31/Swap 30 and 32

It's a matter of fit... they're getting a DPOY candidate to play alongside Luka long-term...

This is a better offer than what Wolves are getting for KAT...I'm valuing them similarly...do their inflated salaries devalue them a bit?
Thought? Who says no?

This trade is just giving Bam away to help out the Lakers. Seems preposterous.

Don't you think Miami would take a chance on Zion? Do you think anyone would pay more for Bam? Who?

Teams with more assets would. If Miami is rebuilding they don't need Reaves and some picks that might not be good in the distant future.

If I understand you... although here Heat what they are getting is Zion... Reaves go to NOP, in the case of NOP it is not a reconstruction, it is taking advantage of the opportunity to sell Zion... with the condition that they obtained a high potential forward in the Draft, to fill his gap... could he get a better offer than Reaves/Knecht/Hachimura/FRP+ 2Swap? It is possible, but from whom?

They need Zion even less than the Lakers package, I was kind of anticipating you'd suggest we take Nola out, since your main goal seems to be to gift LA with Bam.

Yeah, Williamson doesn't seem like a good fit in Miami. His injury concerns and weight issues are not something I'd give up the farm for, and yes, Bam is the farm.

No reason for MIA to consider this.

This trade is basically the Heat saying" hey lets give away Bam Adebayo to the Lakers for basically nothing". When will people accept the fact that Austin Reaves has no real trade value outside of being a expiring contract. He'sfine, useful role player,. That literally it. Nothing more.
