Prime Dame only has one deep playoff run and that was a 0-4 sweep in the WCF.

Orlando is the only team that makes sense with them not needing him to carry.

CJ was the 2nd best player on that team. The failure to surround Lillard with quality talent is the GMs fault, not Lillards.

He built a whole brand on not “running from the grind”. Not feeling sorry for Dame he knew Portland wasn’t a hot bed for free agents and trades were not working. From my memory helped in that 2nd round to get him to that first and only conference finals.

At his age now since the trade with higher expectations it’s been injuries and other stuff. I don’t see any team being excited to take Dame on his deal with any chance of winning unless they can offload bad contracts.

Exactly.

Those are MIL problems, not POR problems.

I was hoping and expecting this to be one of the first replies. You did not disappoint. Jroy have it all.

I have not heard much on the severity of Lillard's physical issue, DVT it is a very serious issue, ended Chris Bosh's career. Dame will be 35 on July 15th. I am not gonna say he's done but he might be.

Bosh had repeated clots. Originally the Bucks said they were hopeful Lillard would be back this season (seems not to be the case) so I am assuming this is less serious. Obviously this is armchair dr., though, I don't actually know anything about this.

Deep Vein Thrombosis can be a one time thing, due to an injury say he got kicked in the calf or something. But if there was not an injury to point to it makes you wonder what's going on. I'm not an MD but my mother and one of my nieces had this issue. Mom is gone now but my niece has been taking blood thinners since she was about 30 when this DVT showed up. There are clotting factors called Factor 5 and Factor 7 and other issues.

I'd have to think that Lillard at 35 will be on the down swing of his career at this point he's owed $112.5 million over the next two season, clearly he's set for life. Depending on what his Dr says he might just say it's not worth the risk to keep playing.

DVT can be controlled with meds but the risk is very great.

Definitely not. That’s an upgrade.

What? In what way is that an upgrade, and if it is, why would we do it? Frankly there is no on court argument to suggest it is an upgrade for Milwaukee... it is magical thinking at best.

Honestly I don't see a team that will take the risk in 2025-26. He may come back and be great for another year or 2. IF he looks good at the trade deadline 2026 and the Bucks are not riding high then some team might be willing to take him and risk it. My bet would be he stays with the Bucks through his option year and retires. I can't speculate on his physical condition or if he will in fact be a force in 2025-26.
