Really? Sabonis is an offensive hub and fits perfectly with JJJ.

He does. But we have big 3 already. No much space from the salary perspective. And no much desire to give up the amount of value SAC would want. And Edey is coming…

Pretty sure the trade was moving Ja for Sabonis so isn’t that trading out one of your big three for another? And Eddy isn’t anywhere near the player Sabonis is. I think Morant for Sabonis is pretty even in value and there is an argument that each player fits better with the new team.

I agree they're pretty even in value.
JA is the better franchise player by a fair margin at both their peak outputs. The problem with JA is he is either injured or doing dumb things that are simply no good for a team or a franchise which at the absolute best is a distraction. I mean 67 games is his highest in his career and that was his rookie campaign. The on court problem with him is he can't shoot.

Sabonis is a guy that is durable, is a model citizen and teammate. What he lacks as being a franchise guy, he more than makes up with 19/14/6 every night on the floor. The problem with Sabonis is if you don't have perimeter D and another rim protector on the team it caps your potential.

If JA runs amok in Memphis what is he going to do in Sacramento? The Kings would have to have a great FO and HC in place before they made this type of move.

I don’t want to attack Sabs who is a great player. I am just not sure Bane, JJJ, Sabs is better than Ja, Bane, JJJ (Edey). Are you? Ja is a God touched creature. Very rare one.

Just looks like Ja’s time in Memphis is coming to an end. Sabonis/JJJ could be better but at the very least, more consistent.

First, Ja’s time in Memphis is far from over.
Second, the problem is that Ja can win games alone without significant support, while JJJ and Sabs remain supplemental pieces, even when playing together, which I agree looks very scary on paper.

Ja’s availability has been an issue and his baggage is clearly affecting the organization. You make a great point about Ja’s ability to take over games but I do wonder what Sabonis could do in the playoffs paired with the right roster. Just think it’s a fun trade.

Ja goes to Brooklyn? That might work. Hmm... good idea actually. But, if he still going to be a head case? That might be a problem for BK management.

The arguments as to why the Griz don't want to do this focus only the Ja for Sabonis part of the swap. But if I'm Memphis, even if I wanted to do this, I might swap Morant and change for Monk and Sabonis but I certainly wouldn't throw in Edey and a 1st to Brooklyn so that Sacramento can get Claxton too unless the contract situation is so one sided (haven't checked) that I needed to pay that to move those two vets to make the deal and even then I'd argue that the 1st is an overpayment.

Memphis is playing Brooklin for Claxton but he´s heading to Sacramento. Nuts
