He makes 50M and has had one All-Star season and went back to being meh.

Why? Just why does Chicago do this? It just makes us the Phoenix Suns of the East except our players haven't achieved crap in the regular season let alone the playoffs.

He followed up his all star season with a statistically similar season. We shut him down early to tank. This year is bad but people keep acting like he only had one good season and I just dont get it. This isn't Mike James.

Cool and he's getting 46M this season, he's a horrific contract and it gets worse.

His contract is a non issue for Utah. They aren’t looking to sign vets for a couple more seasons. He likes Utah. If Utah gets lucky enough to get a Flagg and a good player next year they can pivot in two seasons to actually caring about winning. Lauri’s game will still hold come that time. He’s just a gigantic three point shooter and once surrounded by the right type of players he will be fine. And his skillset can easily translate for years to come.

People can hate his contract/game or not. Doesn’t really change that Utah doesn’t need to trade him. Absolutely no rush.

Okay? This isn't about Lauri in Utah.

This is about his contract being horrendous for Chicago for no conceivable gain if they were to trade for him and what they would have to give up.

OP makes zero sense for CHI. Adding Lauri (and his contract) at a significant cost doesn't make CHI a 50 win team or contender.

If he plays like he did this season - yes, it is bad. If he returns to form (and I think he will, though I understand why others may not) I strongly disagree that it is bad.

You don't think these moves would really help?
-dumping PWill and his terrible contract
-Swapping Vuc for Lauri

Vuc/PWill/JCarter/#12/Port pick/2027 Bulls' 1st (maybe some protection?) for Lauri
MAYBE the 2027 pick with no protection, and the Bulls get the #20 pick this year? And could swap Ayo for Carter (or send Ayo to BRK and the #27 to the Jazz, with the #20 to Chi? The Bulls then resign Jones)

White/Ayo
Giddey/Ball
Matas/Huerter
Lauri/Phillips
Collins/Smith
Terry as 11th man

That lineup looks very solid to me (if Giddey is for real). Big bonus-we don't have to watch PWill dribble off his leg for the millionth time

I understand another team may not value Lauri much. But Utah has no incentive to trade Lauri for less than they want. Value is subjective.
