KD to the Kings / Zion to the Suns / LaVine to the Jazz

Kings get:
Kevin Durant
Collin Sexton

-Gives: DeMar DeRozan, Zach LaVine, Isaac Jones, 2027 Unprotected Sacramento Kings First Round Draft Pick, 2027 Unprotected San Antonio Spurs First Round Draft Pick and 2031 Unprotected Minnesota Timberwolves First Round Draft Pick

Why: Instead of trading Sabonis, they go the other way and try to win now. I have them needing to give up this amount of pick capital if they intend to keep Keegan Murray.

Pelicans get:
DeMar DeRozan
John Collins
29th Overall Draft Pick (via Suns)
2027 Unprotected Sacramento Kings First Round Draft Pick
2029 Lowest of Jazz/Cavaliers/Timberwolves First Round Draft Pick (via Suns)

-Gives: Zion Williamson and Kelly Olynyk

Why: They get two useful veterans, a late first this, a pick that could really pay off plus another first. That's about what I could see the Pelicans getting for the risk/reward of Zion right now.

===

Suns get:
Zion Williamson
Kelly Olynyk
2031 Unprotected Minnesota Timberwolves First Round Draft Pick (via Kings)

-Gives: Kevin Durant, 29th Overall Draft Pick and 2029 Lowest of Jazz/Cavaliers/Timberwolves First Round Draft Pick

Why: The Suns send some picks the Pelicans way to upgrade to a better pick while turning KD into Zion to pair next to Booker.

===

Jazz get:
Zach LaVine
Isaac Jones
2027 Unprotected San Antonio Spurs First Round Draft Pick (via Kings)

-Gives: Collin Sexton and John Collins

Why: I think this is about the best singular asset the Jazz would get for the outgoing package and LaVine is a good player albeit overpaid.

I think LaVine would pull a reasonably positive asset at this point (like a late first). I definitely do not want him in Utah even for the pick. It seems clear we will be extremely bad next year again and it looks like another very good draft. The US players draft eligible in 2026 have been the best youth team the US has possibly ever had. If some fourth team for some reason wants LaVine rather than the SAS pick - even if they are just sending bad expirings back - then Utah is fine to keep in.

I do think the framework is interesting, though I think Collins and not Sexton should go to Sacramento. I love Collin, but Sacramento doesn't seem like they need what he provides given that they have Monk?

Durant will be 37.... it doesn't start with Lavine. No capital and just not the direction
