Trae to Orlando
ORL trades: Anthony Black, Tristan da Silva, Cole Anthony, Gary Harris, Goga Bitazde, 16, 2026 ORL/PHX/WAS 1st (effectively receives the second most favorable), 2028 ORL 1st
ATL trades: Trae Young
Orlando creates a really exciting and young four player core of Young-Suggs-Franz-Paolo.
Atlanta rebuilds with a recent lottery pick, a rookie who played well this season, and three firsts. Black should be very nice as part of their defensive identity.

Re: Trae to Orlando
I see a lot of teams fighting for trae if he gets put up for trade.
Kings, Houston, orlando seem like obvious options.
Houston desperately needs to upgrade the guard spots if they want to be serious. And I think they can beat any offer orlando makes. But maybe they'll wait for booker in hopes he frees up.
Based on what fox went for this package seems in line. I think trae will be worth a bit more. Feels like an extra 1st or 2 short.

I have a hard time triangulating his value given that his contract is short and there are questions about his impact. FWIW I have Black and da Silva both being worth firsts in a vacuum (Black a mid-first, da Silva maybe early 20s), so this feels like filler and 5 firsts, but only one with reasonable upside to be lottery (2026) and one with an outside chance if Orlando has injuries (2028).

Re: Trae to Orlando
I don't think you could keep all four of Suggs, Young, Paolo, and Franz and still build enough of a supporting cast around them once you factor in Paolo's extension. So I think the Magic clearly need a real PG but I think Trae is aiming a little high.

Magic would be $8.7m over 1st Apron with pick #26 to sign and need to sign 2 more to have the 14 required.
KCP would have to be included in out going but that won’t help with apron issue
Fan Logic - Doesn’t shot 3’s = No good

With the 12th pick Chicago Bulls Select: NOA ESSENGUE

The question is how much do you really need to round out the roster with those four as your core.

I don’t see Hawks rebuilding when they don’t control their picks but I wouldn’t be interested trading him in divison for zero premium assets. Best asset here is only a mid 1st potentially?

Re: Trae to Orlando
It would be a huge improvement, but I don't really like the fit. I think they need someone more efficient and who knows how to play off the ball. If Dallas continues to fall apart (as seems obvious), going after Irving would be great with those guys.

Re: Trae to Orlando
I like the overall idea of Trae to Orlando, but it can’t be Anthony Black + Dyson Daniels in the backcourt for the Hawks, since they’re too similar. It has to include Suggs.
Trae
for
Suggs, Goga, TDS, #16
That’s a very strong offer. I might even swap #16 for #22.
Orlando can easily pair Anthony Black and Trae Young.
Atlanta can easily pair Dyson Daniels and Jalen Suggs.

Re: Trae to Orlando
I really don't think he's a good fit...he makes a ton and is one of the most ball-dominant players in the league. I'm not criticizing - that's what he is and what he's best at. Paolo & Franz are very competent playmakers but ORL really needs more backcourt shooting and a cool hand with the ball when things get bogged down. Trae is a whole lot more than that and there's no evidence that he can play effectively any other way (ask Dejounte). No thanks.
Plus, he's a little punk on defense and that won't fly in ORL...not with that paycheck. Paolo will choke him if he doesn't give up the ball.
*also...It's not that Suggs is untradable, but that's one guy that I want far away if he gets traded. I do NOT want to see him 4x a year, breathing revenge fire.

Makes a lot of sense. Kind of makes me wonder if FVV could be a nice option? He is expiring, he is pretty good, and he shouldn't cost a *ton* on his next contract.

Re: Trae to Orlando
Trae Youngs contract is too much to Orlando to take on without trading Suggs (not happening). While young has the skills to elevate this roster id rather go for cheaper option(Coby White, Simmons) that wont gut our roster.

After being reminded of how he plays and behaves in the play-in, yeah... no thanks.
