This without the lottery pick feels like the sweet spot for both sides, but since I don't trust the Mavs to spend, it could just be punting Lively and letting Bridges walk.
But New York gets a defensive big they can have share the court with Towns for 5-6 minutes a half, who gives Brunson a lob threat and Thibs an anchor. Dallas gets more AD at center which while he doesn't like it, is what they should be doing anyway and upgrade the wing.
But the problem on this board is the anchoring of what they paid, without any adjustment for cheap years falling off the contract. This board understands the value of cheap years until they have fallen off our player's contract then we just insist of course he will re-sign with this team he has no ties with who blew up their future so pay us as if he's still locked into a great deal....
Can we trade Leon for Niko? Niko gave up all his assets to build a contending team around a franchise player and then dumped the franchise player and Leon gave up all his assets to build a team around a franchise player without getting the franchise player.
Both teams are in an equally undesirable position going forward. Dallas takes more heat for trading Luka but they are probably in better shape than NY but for playing in the western conference.
