Kings/Rockets
Simple 1 for 1 swap DeMar DeRozan for Dillon Brooks.
Why for Hou- they get a legitimate scoring threat in the halfcourt. Houston has the length and defenders to support DeRozan.
Why for Sac- they get a tough, defensive minded wing that can shoot to go with Sabonis and Keegan Murray

Meh.
Brooks brings his own set of problems.
I’d probably do it though for the defensive improvement.

I'd look to Miami for Wiggins first I think. Houston probably loathe to move a guy they believe sets culture and Miami needs another guy to create some offense and can replace Wiggins easier.

I think most teams would want the player 6 years younger that plays defense and shoots threes. Houston included.

Yes Brooks has flaws, and so does DeRozan. I think each player could potentially fill a need for both teams.

That a valid point, but while Derozans ability to create and make shots is unappreciated by most I don’t think FOs see it the same way.

Udoka loves Brooks.
Amen would not be as good as he is without Brooks inspiring him.
Could use a shooter but Brooks is a big part of Houston holding GS points to almost 20 less than their average.

Rockets will keep Brooks, thank you.
DDR is pretty overrated.

I don't think Derozan would qualify as a legitimate scoring threat when it comes playoffs time. I'm cool with DB's defense, shooting, and grind.

I don’t get that narrative at all. He’s 22ppg on 42% for the playoffs, not great but a lot of that is against Prime Bron and an elite Cavs defense. He’s a bucket on all 3 levels.

22 points on an average of 0 3PM per game. He's not bad, but he's not someone I would trade for in exchange for one of Houston's most important players on defense and their most reliable shooter.

I like DDR to Dallas as Kyrie recovers.

Seems like an outdated narrative. I can only go based off his 1 year with the Kings as I watched all of those games, but he was about 35% on 3 attempts per game. So saying he can’t shoot 3s isn’t accurate IMO. And I don’t think a toe line 3 is tracked anywhere, but if those were counted as actual 3s I’m confident DDR would be in the high 30s for 3pt % this year.

Re: Kings/Rockets
Yeah not interested in this swap. Now that Dillon can shoot he's quite valuable and I don't think DeRozan is anymore. Besides, DeRozan, Amen-Sengun spacing would not be ideal

It would certainly be a good deal for the Kings. The Rockets would never and should never touch it though.

Brooks value in playoffs and team attitude is three times his season stats.

If Miami considers this, it's the obvious move. But all i hear from Miami fans is they want to open space a year from now so probably prefer an expiring.

Re: Kings/Rockets
I had another idea when it comes to the rockets and the kings. The rockets are likely only going to be able to extend one of J Smith and Eason. I think they will likely prefer to keep Eason because he is the better defender. I could see a trade with the kings working where we send you an expiring contract, and one or two firsts for Jabari. Houston picks up future assets and saves on costs.

Let me ask you this, I am not offering, but what if Landale, #10 were offered for Keegan Murray, would you take it.

My answer would be no, but not because it isn't fair value, the kings really only have 1 big forward on the team and that is Keegan.
I think that this is a strong draft and that the 10th pick is probably ok value for Keegan.
