BOS - ORL - SAC

Post#1 » by bpcox05 » Tue May 6, 2025 2:23 pm

------------------------------

BOS GETS: Jonathan Isaac
BOS GIVES: Jrue Holiday & #28
WHY FOR BOS? The Celtics shed a lot of payroll next year which gives them huge tax savings while at the same time still getting a productive player who is just entering his prime (27 years old) who is locked up for the next few years (allowing them to extend their window). Meanwhile, Holiday will be 35 years old at the start of next season.

PG - White / Pritchard / Davison
SG - Brown / Scheierman
SF - Tatum / Hauser
PF - Isaac / Walsh
C - Porzingis / Tillman / Queta

------------------------------

ORL Gets: Malik Monk
ORL Gives: Jonathan Isaac
Why for ORL? The Magic have a lot of frontcourt depth at the moment. They move one of their bigs for a guard who can help run the offense, make plays for others, and space the floor for Wagner & Banchero.

PG - Monk / Black / Anthony / Joseph
SG - Suggs / Caldwell-Pope / Harris
SF - Wagner / Howard / Houston
PF - Banchero / Da Silva
C - Carter / Wagner/ Bitadze

------------------------------

SAC GETS: Jrue Holiday & #28
SAC GIVES: Malik Monk
WHY FOR SAC? Holiday gives them a legit PG to help run the offense while also being able to defend at an elite level, space the floor, and provide some scoring. He’ll also be a good mentor for Carter and Ellis as well as a great fit next to LaVine. On top of that, the Kings get back into the 1st round. I’d still look to pull off a follow-up DeRozan trade after this one.

PG - Holiday / Carter
SG - LaVine / Ellis / Davis
SF - DeRozan
PF - Murray
C - Sabonis / Valanciunas / Jones

Does SAC have that kind of cap space to burn?

I'm looking for an Isaac rebirth next year...he was pretty upfront about the weight gain that he and the FO decided to pursue was a mistake...it slowed him down, he just didn't feel right. He's going to lose the weight this summer...even at 15mpg, I'll take the old Isaac's defensive mayhem over Monk. I like Monk, but I think there are other options out there or maybe ORL offers something else that actually might be a better fit...

NVM...looks like SAC is over the cap too...nothing to talk about here...3 teams that need a little breathing room can't help each other.

Unless we go big...

ORL sends: KCP, WCJ, #25
ORL gets: Sabonis

BOS sends: Jrue
BOS gets: KCP

SAC sends: Sabonis
SAC gets: Jrue, WCJ, #25

You can't think 25 gets you Sabonis and those players have no meaningful trade value. Just not even close on value
