Receiving Aldama in a S&T would hard cap GS at the first apron. That's not impossible but seems very unlikely to me this season.

That was prior to Lauri’s increase in pay. So the trade would obviously have to be different now. That wasn’t my main point though.
I mean, it kind of is the main point though, because if it's impossible to make a legal trade the rest is just academic.
Lauri makes $42M this year and that jumps to $46M next year. Outside of Steph/Jimmy/Draymond, we have Moody making $11.5M and Hield making $9M, and then rookie/vet min guys. There's just no way to make the math work outside of a Kuminga S&T (and even that's iffy because of the potential BYC issue)

Now if GSW is willing to give up value for Cam, using Kuminga in a S&T to match salary might work. But we'd have to be willing to basically give up JK plus whatever Brooklyn wants in return for Cam.
Acquiring a player contract (CamJo) by using Kuminga as a S&T would hardcap GS at the 2nd apron, which would limit them a bit in terms of trades or keeping Looney, Payton, Spencer, etc.
Is that an actual hard cap at the 2nd apron? or just they can't go over the 2nd apron while making the deal?
As far as I can tell, only using the taxpayer mid level results in an actual 2nd apron hard cap.
