Re: Boston's pay cut
TRADE 1
Anfernee Simons for Kentavious Caldwell-Pope + 16
TRADE 2
DeAndre Ayton + 16 for Kristaps Porzingis + 28
WHY? BOS shaves a year from KP, moves up in the draft and gets a big in Ayton who can finish above the rim in PNR, rebounds at an elite level and can spread the floor a bit w/ his middie.
TRADE 3
Sam Hauser into some teams MLE
WHY? They simply need to cut salary and while Hauser is nice he is paid for a long time and can be replaced 60-70% w/ a VM type.
DRAFT
16 - Thomas Sorber FC - Elite system fit IMO - replaces Horford as backup big and with a optimistic development arc can be a prime Horford type moving forward.
32 - Noah Penda F - Bulky 3/D wing who has some NBA ready traits.
FREE AGENCY
BAE - Amir Coffey F - Nice do-it-all role player who showed 3PT improvement last season
VM - Dalano Banton G - They bring Banton home as a bench scorer who can come in and score in bursts
VM - Jae'Sean Tate F - Low usage energy guy who plays bigger than his listed size.
G - Jrue Holiday / Payton Pritchard / Dalano Banton
G - Derrick White / Payton Pritchard / Jordan Walsh
F - Jaylen Brown / Amir Coffey / Noah Penda
F - Jayson Tatum / Jae'Sean Tate / Baylor Schierman
C - DeAndre Ayton / Thomas Sorber / Xavier Tillman
Anfernee Simons for Kentavious Caldwell-Pope + 16
TRADE 2
DeAndre Ayton + 16 for Kristaps Porzingis + 28
WHY? BOS shaves a year from KP, moves up in the draft and gets a big in Ayton who can finish above the rim in PNR, rebounds at an elite level and can spread the floor a bit w/ his middie.

Ayton makes more than KP, how is Boston getting under the 1st apron to do trade 2?

Exactly. Also both players are on expiring contracts... so it doesn't impact the long-term cap of either team.

Celtics get an expiring Simons who can help the Celtics for at least a year from 3, and get a cost controlled lotto pick.
Blazers upgrade the PG position and further add to their growing defensive identity by finally having a defensive guard.
White is a keeper for boston.
He's also their best path forward to get some stuff. Jrue and KP won't return as much and losing Brown will change the entire make-up of the team dramatically.
The Jazz might finally be ready to win next year as Lauri is getting annoyed and that's a great place for White.
Can send Kessler and George for him. Works for both sides I think

Enter Sacramento with a Sabonis based offer.
That would certainly be interesting to see. I like Sabonis in the right spot...Brown is a physical bully though. His toughness, on both ends, would be missed and maybe it's impact is being underestimated.

Unfortunately for Brown his impact doesn't show up in impact stats.

Re: Boston's pay cut
grizz should be all over Hauser if its a salary dump type move , would still have MLE for another 3&D type FA.

We paid to dump Smart to clear the required cap to renegotiate JJJ. I think that is still the plan, we won't have the MLE if we do that. But if we choose to operate over the cap and not renegotiate JJJ, we can bring back Aldama and use the MLE to absorb Hauser. There is no way of absorbing Hauser unless with cap space or MLE, if we use cap space we don't have the MLE, just the room exception.

Re: Boston's pay cut
People need to read new CBA about 2 apron teams
We cant trade 1+1 player.
All does KP+ player Jrue+player JB+player doenst work and it can only be 1 player in trade

Would love if Brown were available though. Just don’t see it as a good option for Boston.
If they dump either Holiday or Porzingis without taking back salary they can squeeze in below the 2nd apron. I have them about $190MM for 8 players using Holiday's cap number as it's slightly higher than KP for 8 players, so they need to fill out 6 roster slots with $17.6MM. Assuming they sign their first rd pick to a slot of $2.8MM, their 2nd rd pick (#32) to a slot of $2.3MM, they would need to fill 4 slots with $12.5MM. Use part of the tax MLE at 5.65MM and 3 vet mins and your right at the 2nd apron.
Note - Al Horford is not included in this analysis.

You can trade 1+1 if after the transaction you are below the 2nd Apron.
