No it won't. I'm sure the Bucks will work with him to some extent, but he's got two years left on his deal. Giannis doesn't have leverage in this situation. He'll go to the highest bidder.

Again, I'll believe they trade him to Charlotte when they have actually traded him there. I think he is absolutely going to be part of a collaborative process with the Bucks if he decides he wants to move on.

Its not about lEvErAge, its about a strong relationship with the player and a knowledge that other stars and agents watch how you handle a situation like that. It won't be screw what Giannis wants we are just taking the biggest bag. That would in many ways be pennywise and pound foolish.

I don't think Charlotte even entertains the thought of trading Flagg for Giannis, so I don't know what they have to do with anything.

As for the second paragraph, this is Milwaukee. Nobody is actually choosing to play there if they have the choice, especially after Giannis exits. It'll go back to being the NBA's Siberia until they luck into another superstar via the draft. So who cares what agents and stars think? They already moved Ray Allen and Jrue Holliday, two guys who were beloved. It's fine.

The Bucks aren't going to send Giannis to the highest bidder from all the other 29 teams.

Not. Gonna. Happen.

Giannis will have a list, and they'll get the highest offer they can from those teams. I believe he is likely to be somewhat generous and put 5 or 6 teams on there. That should get the Bucks a very good return.

Yea, you're just wrong. They're in an impossibly deep hole and the only way out is to get the absolute best return. Giannis has years left on his deal. He's got no say in where he ends up.
