Milwaukee trades Giannis, Pat Connaughton
Dallas trades #1, Kyrie Irving, PJ Washington
Dallas goes all in again with their new asset that they totally weren't promised 3 months ago. Mr. Defense Wins Championships puts that theory to the test and lines up a fearsome Giannis/AD front line and goes all in for right now. The Mavs were reportedly willing to trade Luka for Giannis, surely they'd jump on the chance now. Follow-up moves are definitely needed to clear a frontcourt jam and add backcourt pieces.
Milwaukee jump starts the rebuild with Cooper freakin Flagg. If you're trading Giannis, it doesn't get a lot better than this return. Kyrie is expiring and worth little to nothing at the moment as he recovers from injury for most of next year. PJ is a nice flippable piece for another pick or two.

I mean Dallas has been floated for Giannis since they got number 1. But I don't get why Kyrie is here. Dallas would value him more and they have other salary filler.

Think it is better for Dallas to stick with Flagg, and mostly because he costs a lot less. It is so much easier to fill in your team when you have a good player on a rookie scale deal.
Davis + Gannis + Kyrie would be 150 mil and you still need at least 4 more guys for a rotation.

I just pray Mavs dont even entertain the idea of moving Flagg.
Dont get me wrong, there is no guaranteed Cooper will ever reach Giannis level but the latter doesn't turn this team into a real contender, AD + Giannis is a very suspect fit this team has no PGs and little to no asset to build a proper team around Giannis, I hope he realizes it too and looks elsewhere as his next destination.
Both San Antonio and Houston make way more sense than the Mavs imho.

trading 4-5 players that would probably play vs 1 that would play and 1 who's probably not contributing much next year, was the reasoning there.
a non Kyrie trade probably looks like PJ, Gafford, Caleb, Christie, one of Powell/OMax/Hardy? is that really preferable to just trading a 33yo Kyrie with one knee (realistically pushing 34 by the time he plays again) ?

This was floated around within 3 seconds of Dallas winning the Lottery.

Yes. The Bucks would care about Flagg, what they could flip Washington and Gafford for, the future Lakers pick. So Dallas would get to pick the matching. Use Klay and Powell/Hardy/OMax and now Dallas still has some reasonable depth still. Plus they will need Kyrie to do playoff damage.
Or could wait until Flagg's money counts and Dallas could even keep Hardy and OMax.

Re: DAL/MIL
I like the idea of this trade for both sides. However I would replace Kyrie Irving with one of the big men from the Mavericks. Trading PJ Washington and Cooper Flagg would still leave the Mavericks with a crowded frontcourt of Giannis/AD/Gafford/Lively. Someone would have to significantly reduced minutes. It's given that both AD/Giannis are playing 30+ minutes per game, so it leaves ether Gafford or Lively playing reduced minutes compared to what they're actually capable of. Also the Mavericks are going going to need Kyrie's playmaking once he recovers.

Re: DAL/MIL
Even as a Bucks fan who thought Flagg would be the obvious #1 target if Giannis asked out, I don't see Dallas being a fit at all. Kyrie's hurt, you can't count on AD. They're better off taking Flagg, letting Kyrie walk next summer, and trading AD for whatever young package they can surround Cooper with.
