Porzingis to Lakers, Hachimura/RWIII to Celtics

Post#1 » by Bentley1225 » Mon May 12, 2025 8:43 pm

Ill offer this idea for:
-Lakers look to add a stretch big in KP as they look to use remaining assets to make a final run while LeBron still under contract
-Celtics get further depth and 1st for KP
-Portland clears up glut of bigs

To Los Angeles (Trade Hachimura, Vincent, Protected 1st)
-Kristaps Porzingis (1 year, $30.7 million)
-2030 New York 2nd round pick via Portland
-2031 Portland 2nd round pick

To Boston (Trade Porzingis)
-Rui Hachimura (1 year, $18.2 million)
-Robert WIlliams III (1 year, $13.2 million)

To Portland (Trade RWIII + 2nds)
-Gabe Vincent (1 year, $11.5 million)
-Lakers 2031 1st round pick (Top 20 protected or extinguished)

Why?
-The Lakers get more size in Porzingis as they look to upgrade their starting 5. They can look to replace Vincent with a guy like Brogdon with exemption money

-The Celics create more frontcourt depth given Horford is on his last legs as they can look to re-sign both Hachimura and RWIII.

-The Blazers clear up glut of bigs in swapping a 2 distant 2nds for a 1st while getting backcourt depth in Vincent.

Am I reading this right?

It looks like POR gives up RW and 3 SRP for a guy we don’t want and a protected FRP in 6 years?

yeah it looks too good for Portland to me too. Vincent is a more useful player and they get to turn 2nds into a future 1st? LA could do a lot better for that package.

Its Vincent + 2031 Top 20 protected 1st for RWIII and 2 2nds in 2030 and 2031.

Its Vincent + 2031 Top 20 protected 1st for RWIII and 2 2nds in 2030 and 2031.

Thanks for the clarification.

BOS is taking more $ back here, which it can't do. And you say "depth and 1st", but I don't see a pick coming to BOS?

You could flip it and send RUI to POR and Vincent to BOS and it's legal, BOS saves some $.
If there's also a Jrue trade, Vincent could be useful(ish) in the backcourt.

Re-assess where the picks go after that.

Luka and Porzingis, together again, what could go wrong?

This does nothing to clear salary for the Celtics. They would actually be adding around 700,000 dollars in salary, while also getting worse, which makes this trade not only bad for the Celtics, but also illegal since they can't take back more salary than they send out.

Yeah Portland gives up 2 2nds in 2030 and 2031 while taking on a better expiring contract and getting a protected 1st.

I’m some bizarro world where the Lakers would give up their 31 1st for Porzingis, Boston would find some iteration of a deal where they keep it for themselves.

Hachimura has more trade value than KP.

I misread for a second and thought the Lakers were trading for both Porzingis and RWIII after declining Mark Williams for health reasons lol.

Sorry but i like having rw3 around
I would rather not have Vincent around
And I also prefer two real seconds in hand to a chance at a distant late first

Given contracts and age, I'd rather have Hachimura than Kristaps.
