Milwaukee should just cut Utah out. Always take centerpiece > volume.

So the Bucks essentially get to choose between getting Flagg or becoming the Utah Jazz. I think they take Flagg.

First of all, the last thing the Bucks should want to do in a potential Giannis trade is to use him to "get off" of Dame's contract. If you are trading Giannis, you are going to suck, you eat Dame's contract.
Second of all, you take the premium asset in Flagg here. Make Dallas match salaries how they want, toss in a couple of picks.

I get wanting Flagg but this is 8 FRP including #5, 6 unprotected, 2 SRP, a dude who was an all star a year ago, a ton of expirings and eating Dames contract. If you take Flagg out of the equation I’m not sure Bucks will get any better.

I see the Bucks cutting out the Jazz and Lakers here. The quality of assets coming back to the Bucks is more important than quantity and while the Jazz have great quantity, the Quality simply isn't there for a Giannis trade. Also I think the Bucks can more back for Daniel Gafford than a heavily protected 1st round pick and a useless expiring.

Flatter lottery odds make these kind of volume offers super interesting to me. OTOH it makes unprotected picks next season from known terrible teams less valuable--look at what happened this year for instance. OTOH, it ups the positive variance on picks this far out because you don't need those teams to be wretched, just bad, to have shots at a nice player.
But the problem is always the problem--its hard to sell people on giving up Giannis, or even a prospect like Flagg, for a pile of stuff with such a high variance. Maybe its the Nets pick to Boston and you win. But maybe its what Atlanta got for Luka and its a huge loss.
The problem is less the value and more people want a dollar bill, not a pile of quarters and dimes.

In the NBA you always take the dollar over the quarters, even if it is 20 quarters.

That’s fair and well stated. I don’t take exception to wanting Flagg at all, that makes sense.

Bucks don’t need to get out from Dame’s contract and you don’t ever take quantity over quality ever. That would essentially a 9 for 2 exchange next season, most of it is just junk. I do not like any prospect at #5 let alone later in this draft.
