? Just thinking if Hornets want a relatively proven C locked up, and then Cavs have a bit more wing depth with this. Mark Williams might not be Allen, but he perhaps replicates what Allen does for less and can still improve.

CLE would absolutely have to do this.

How many minutes do the three Hornets even play in the postseason? The Williams trade was voided because he failed his physical (and his defense limits his utility when healthy). The last two playoff teams Grant Williams played on both parted ways with him (the Mavs paid a first to do so). Saluan looks like he's not an NBA player. He can barely dribble the basketball.

about 20 minutes each. If i'm wildly wrong about either guy, so be it and the deal wouldn't make sense.

i believe Mark can rebound and doesn't get pushed around in the paint. he can catch a lob and finish at the rim. i'm sure Mark can't defend in space like Allen can, but he won't need to because this isn't the only deal being made and i'm not going into next year with the Garland/Mitchell combo.

i believe Grant is a dog (something we could have used). he has versatile length and has shot 43% from three in his post season career.

Salaun is irrelevant at this point, i'd be g-leaging him. He is a legitimate project though, not even 20 yet, and i'd certainly gamble on him becoming a rotation player over Travers, Bates, etc.

Jtbc, it's not that Williams doesn't defend in space. He's a bad defender period. He's not a betted rebounder than Allen either. If he gets sandwiched between Turner and Nesmith or Nemhard, nothing is changing. The question will still be what are the rest of Cavs doing while Williams is occupying two Pacers?

The Pistons are filled with *dogs.* The Heat have Bam and Mitchell. Neither made it to the second round. Williams ability to trade girth for height would be completely negated against a 5 out team like the Pacers.

This trade is awful for the Cavs.

Jarret Allen isn’t winning you anything. Garland won’t show up in the playoffs. Mobley is a glorified dunk man. Mitchell has some experience but is a liability on defense. To me, the Cavs are a treadmill team.
