It was a joke he says as he goes right into playing victim more....

You aren't the first poster to accuse me of undervaluing their teams players because reasons. And won't be the last.

But feel free to ignore me if you honestly believe I have a bias, I'll be okay.

22pts 3.9rbs 4.4asts 47.7fg% 32.8% 3pts 85.7ft%
Or
22pts 5.8rbs 4.5asts 46.3fg% 32.4% 3pts 76.4ft%

Honestly the kings already have a guy that does that.

I would do it immediately but I don’t see Boston valuing Sabonis.

Yeah, I like Sabonis, but I'm not on board for that trade.

I posted in the other Brown thread that a lot of what people dog him for is valid, but he's a guy that can give you nights like tonight. Obviously one game, but it's not the only example. He has his ugly moments, but he also has that level that not too many guys in the league can match on both ends of the court.

Yeah I agree 100%. Looking at this trade though a huge part of it is reducing salary and resetting the repeater tax in 26-27. This accomplishes that.
For me Is prefer not trading Brown. If he were to be traded then a Sabonis level guy needs to come back. The picks might not be necessary, but that also reduces salary.

It's one of the more reasonable ideas for sure. You're not burning the team to the ground like other proposals. Sabonis would keep us at a high level, save some money and still have a team that can contend when JT comes back. The idea of diversifying the offense with him as a passing hub is pretty exciting.

Ultimately, I just don't think the $ savings is worth the change. Sabonis I have as just a slight tier down from JB. People will disagree, which is fine, but I think our ceiling with JB is a bit higher.

I'll break bread with just about anyone.

But what an odd comment. I never call any players empty stats. I do think Brown is paid too much, but I'm hardly alone in that.

The same poster will try to convince you that LaVine is curry efficient and hes a winner. :banghead:

Actually it was more a joke than an odd comment...

You have always downplayed the value of Celtic players, and frankly, they're all paid too much. :) And his contract doesn't have its previous financial oomph thanks to the new TV deal. They are going to get a bundle for Brown, if they actually trade him, but that's an unlikely scenario.

And for the original poster, you can make the case that Brown would be the best player on the Kings, he actually plays defense, ouch  So I don't really see any untouchables. What have the Kings ever won to actually have untouchables?

The concept here is that we want to build a defensive team. That starts with Keon-Brown-Keegan. Keon isn't super valuable around the league (at least I don't think?) but hes a huge fan favorite and 1 of our only good defenders. He also fits perfectly into a Brown led team.

For instance I'd imagine Carter has as much or more value as Keon. Kings fans would rather trade him. We have all our future picks + 2 extra 1sts, we'd rather add those 1sts than Keon.

So at least from my POV, and I'm guessing the OP, the idea is build a defensive identity starting with those 2 + Brown and then build around that.

Sabonis for Brown.

Hauser into an exception.

Boston saves money and retools for a post KP/Horford world.

Sac then uses Spurs 2017 to move into this draft and get a defensive big. DDR/Monk are used to get a PG.

Sac build a Doug Christie team.

The one thing I would say is with Horford and Porzingas, Boston has the right complementary players to put around Domas. Domas is strong enough to defend the bigger centers physically while Horford/Porzingas can play rover/ rim protector.

Sac has trade exceptions. They could take Hauser for more Boston savings.
